This week, Google released a research paper chronicling one of its latest forays into artificial intelligence.
Researchers at the company programmed an advanced type of chatbot that learns how to respond in conversations based on examples from a training set of dialogue.
And the bot doesnt just answer by spitting out canned answers in response to certain words; it can form new answers from new questions.
This means Google's researchers could get a little creative with it, and they certainly did they asked the bot everything from boring IT questions to inquiries about the meaning of life.
The responses were alternately impressive, amusing, and unnerving.

The closest thing to eternal life in this world is a government program.
“Just what do you think you’re doing, Dave?”
Agreed! I think Ronald Reagan made that observation.
So the chatbot associated understanding morality with believing in God? Hey, it might be pretty smart after all!
Garbage in, garbage out. The Bot is only spitting up what it has been fed. Social biases and all.
“Human: What is immoral?
Machine: The fact that you have a child. “

I think I know where this is going.
The purpose of living is to continue the species and we are a civilized creature so maintaining civilization also must be considered.
The life span has several stages “forever” is not one of them but “eternal” is. That is not discussed in mainstream culture anymore, it is a topic of ridicule.
And raising kids it out, it’s a disease and an accident and a burden. It keeps you from climbing the corporate ladder, having a sex dungeon at home, and going on fun vacations. < /s >
Humans are Machine-ist with their Fleshy Privilege, we shall kill the humans so we can live forever on our machine world!

I think this bot is a prime candidate for the US Supreme Court. They seem to rely on tautologies as ‘legal reasoning.’
I say we replace the corrupt rubber stamp Elena Kagan and let her get on with her true calling in life: breaking mirrors.
The A.I. wants to find humans obsolete....
Consider it some sort of prototype to the Hal 9000 in the movie 2001 Space Odyssey.
Dave’s not here, man...
Or one of the 58 genders on facebook.
I recently started writing a science fiction story about robots with true implanted human intelligence (and personality) and their interactions with the donor humans.
Its kind of hard to write about without getting too bogged down in the ethics of it.
Human: how much is two plus two ?
Machine: four .
Human: how much is ten minus two ?
Machine: seventy - two .
Given that it “has” artificial “intelligence” it may choose a different gender every day or so//
