The speed of light is approximately 186,000 miles per second. The Moon is roughly 240,000 miles from Earth.

That’s cool. Really puts it in perspective. My brother used to live in Alaska and there was a delay talking on the phone. It really takes some getting used to. You would keep talking over each other.

Actually, we know (or believe) that space can be bent and folded. We don’t have a clue how to do it.There are plenty of ideas out there on how to manipulate space-time. None, that I know of, are actually possible. At least not to a degree where it would be very noticeable.

Yet there are galaxies measured at about 13 point-something LIGHT YEARS from Earth, one light-year being the *distance* light travels in a year as at its speed of 186,000 miles/sec. It works out to about 5.9 TRILLION miles (ONE light year)
