My son has been very troubled, as he believes, by the presence and attack of evil spirits. (I am not sure myself what is psychological and what is supernatural.)
Next week he is seeing a priest who seems like a calm, rational, measured man, for a deliverance session. The priest does think that my son is afflicted by spirits.
My son's anxiety level is higher and he feels like he has come under greater attack. I am asking on his behalf, that you pray for him for the next seven days, until he sees the priest.
I also ask that he be granted patience, peace and trust in the Lord, and that he and the priest be given true discernment as to whether these events are spiritual or psychological.
His name is Ben if you will be so kind as to remember him in your prayers.
Prayers for your son and family.
Consider suggesting that your son spend an hour in adoration of the Eucharist. Just sit and talk with Jesus and ask for His help. Listen.
Peace be with you.
Excellent counsel from Mom with Hope. The Lord has full 100% command over good and bad angels and allows the bad angels (demons) to trouble and purify us. Do not fear. Love the Lord, go to confession every month or week, and communion. Simple things like lighting a candle next to a Bible and placing a flower next to a statue of Mary are very powerful.
Prayers.
May the Lord bless your son, and bless you, keep the faith.
It's important to let him know that he's just sick at the moment, and that even if it takes a few days, he WILL start feeling better (one of the negative thoughts they can have is that it's always going to be like this, which can make them feel devastated and hopeless). It's also okay to just try to take his mind off of the negative thoughts with distraction (comedies, AFV, etc) though they may resist it at first, it's okay to cajole them towards such things. Also, too much sleep can make it worse. Anti-depressants can be useful longer term, but it can take trial and error to find the right one. I hope he gets well soon.
Prayers up for your son and for you.

Have your doctor look at the drug/mineral “lithium”
It may help him. I watched one of my friends in my younger days start hearing voices and he ended his own pain. There have been medical advances since then.
May God bless Ben with healing, and bless all of you with His peace, which "passes all understanding".
And the peace of God, which passes all understanding, will keep your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:7
St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle.
Be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the Enemy.
May God rebuke him, we humbly pray, and do thou, Prince of the heavenly hosts, by the power of God thrust into hell Satan, and all the evil spirits who wander through the world for the ruin of souls.
Amen.
"Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus."
Read it, memorize it,meditate on it, breathe it, live it.
The core thought: "Don't worry or despair about anything. God will take care of you." Here's the spiritual song for it:
Be not dismayed whateer betide,
God will take care of you;
Beneath His wings of love abide,
God will take care of you.
Refrain:
God will take care of you,
Through every day, oer all the way;
He will take care of you,
God will take care of you.
Through days of toil when heart doth fail,
God will take care of you;
When dangers fierce your path assail,
God will take care of you.
All you may need He will provide,
God will take care of you;
Nothing you ask will be denied,
God will take care of you.
No matter what may be the test,
God will take care of you;
Lean, weary one, upon His breast,
God will take care of you.
Prayers for Ben, for deliverance, healing, and restoration in Jesus Holy Name.
For the psychological part, might I suggest that you and your son look up a cognitive therapist? Cognitive therapy is supposed to be very effective at helping people learn to overcome various anxieties.
1. To destroy witchcraft and all other diabolical and haunting influences;
2. To impart protection to persons tempted, deluded, or tormented by evil spirits;
3. To obtain the conversion of sinners into the Catholic Church, especially when they are in danger of death;
4. To serve as an armor against temptation;
5. To destroy the effects of poison;
6. To secure a timely and healthy birth for children;
7. To afford protection against storms and lightning;
8. To serve as an efficacious remedy for bodily afflictions and a means of protection against contagious diseases.
Prayers lifting for you all.
