The cause of an early morning fire north of San Diego was an electrocuted bird falling from an active power line
A bird carrying a snake in its talons struck power lines north of San Diego, sparking a hillside fire just west of The Merge.
San Diego Police arrived to the location on Dunhill Street near the intersection of Interstates 5 and 805 just before 6 a.m.
Flames were burning very close to businesses including the General Atomics building, officials said.
Officers called in San Diego Fire-Rescue crews who contained the fire within an hour.
Fire officials initially told NBC 7 a bird with a snake in its mouth was electrocuted on a power line and fell to the ground, sparking the fire. A photo released by officials later shows the snake in the hawk's grasp.
"A hawk that hit the high voltage power line, caught fire, and fell to the ground," SD Fire-Rescue spokesperson Lee Swanson said in a written release.
There were no structures damaged and no evacuations ordered.
This area of San Diego is home to many companies in the region's biochemical industry.
I hope tomorrow is better!
She would have to have a documented power of attorney to do anything anyway. But is that something he wants to really do?
When people die intestate there are already laws in place as to how by law the estate gets distributed.
It is also quite common to see all the bank accounts frozen.
You can look up in the state how the estate would be broken down, it is not a mystery.
Post-of-theDay for sure. LOL!
Went outside a few minutes ago with my cat-summoning device (on Moosie’s side of the pond it would be called a torch) to locate 66% of our cat herd that should be in for the night. As I shined the beam of the cat-summoning device toward the West I spotted two things. One was the glowing orbs of the Smudge heading toward me. The other was the recognizable form of a Coy O’Tay crossing the road probably 75 (but no more than 100) measures of the King’s foot behind her...
In the following moments with the attempt to get the Smudge to hasten for the safety of the interior I did note that the Coy O’Tay after becoming aware that he-she was illuminated, chose to reverse course and head for the tree line.
If I had one of those assault weapons that are buried in the field by the silo (those are what survived the terrible boating accident) I would have had a clear shot at devarmitizing the vicinity. As it was, all I could do was light him-her up..
Shortly after the Smudge was safe inside, the Socks furbeast (who has proven not to be the smartest rock in the quarry) came sauntering up the path. Slowly. Fortunately the Coy O’Tay had wandered off into the underbrush and was not stalking the furbeast.
Either that or he-she has cloaking technology.
I’m slipping.. I made a general post, but I specifically mentioned you and didn’t ping you. So be pinged..
I’m glad your cats are safe! I made Jake stay in last night.
Future warriors look sleepy
It’s exhausting being a tiny kitten.
Bottom line: He will do nothing. They house will be sold and he will get his share. At least, that’s the way he sees it from all the comments my Dear FReepers made in his behalf, yesterday. Thank you all for your help! <3
And I’m worn out this morning. I think I will try to take a nap a little later, but I’m not going to do anything this morning. No laundry, no DMV. Nothing but geeking.
The Coy O’Tay’s here use the feral cats in the arroyo as their own Specialty Snack Bar. There are hares in the mix, so the variety is endless.
I’m glad your kittehs are all safe!
I’m glad he’s not expecting you to do a lot of work for him, and I hope it works out okay for all of them.
Everyone should have a will!
I’m about to get the kids up (other than Kathleen, who is already here), and then decide what to do next. Sally needs her physical for camp.
I would have done it, and he recognizes that and thanked me. I will send him the URLs for a couple of life insurance companies and make a copy of a blank will for him and then I will call it good.
Outside of doing that for him, I don’t think I even belong in his life any more. (I still miss him.)
I’d share some chocolate if I could. My brother sent some for my birthday.
My efforts to roust Bill, Sally, and Frank from bed were inadequate. I suppose I should try again.
We must get on with being on our way to work.
I forget just why.
Now they’re up, but I have to figure out something to do with them all.
I would love some chocolate. I could probably go to McDonald’s and get an iced chocolate mocha, but I don’t want to even take the trash out.
Maybe it’s the let-down after the adrenalin rush of actually doing something.
I found several “free” will places online, but they all want credit card info and I’m afraid I will forget the free week’s trial and be zinged for $20-$35 for a free will.
You could just send the links to your friend and let him deal with it.
I’m glad I don’t have to worry about finding something for other people to do. It’s hard enough trying to keep myself busy.
I have to change my own will, which means I will have to re-type the one I have with all the changes, or start fresh with one online.
*sigh*
I will see if I have my will on the external hard drive. It would save me some work if I do.
And yes, I will send him the URLs for the online sites, and he can just print them up himself. I’m the beneficiary of the Will and the executrix, and the beneficiary on his life insurance, there are no surprises there. No one has been in his life longer than I have, since his mother and first wife both passed away.
