Here are five times where Glass felt the "19 Kids and Counting" parents were trying to hide the truth, according to Radar Online.
Michelle Duggar volunteers too much information Watch closely the entire interview and one would easily note that Michelle is constantly giving away more information than required. This, according to Glass, is a form of deception.
Michelle Duggar looks for reassurance All throughout the interview Michelle looks at her husband for reassurance. This and the fact that she gives away too much information are hints that the whole thing was rehearsed, believes Glass.
"Michelle Duggar it is loaded with deception. She tells too much story and embellishment and gives too much away. It is such complete deception," Glass told Radar Online.
Fake tears "Michelle pretends she is crying but there are no tears. No one cries without tears. She is sobbing and there are absolutely no tears! Another thing that struck me is that Michelle wiped one eye at a time. You don't cry one eye at a time."

I did not call Josh a pedophile. Because the victims come from hides own family which shows extreme dysfunction (not because of their faith) does not change what happened.
The prosecutor should be charged for releasing the information. Josh should have been prosecuted at the time,
You can get over your high horse now and quit mischaracterising what I said,
So glad you were there to witness it.
There are more instances than the two you cite
I think its not just Christianity but the concept of large families. A lot of folks pay lip service to being anti-abortion but are really uncomfortable with a family larger than 3 kids. I do genealogy. Families in the 16th through 19th century had huge families, 6-12 was typical but one of my ancestors was one of 19. I’m not sure what caused the bubble but perhaps the ability to grow food in the new world, safe water, plenty of land to spread out. Reality shows however are typically freak shows. It is somewhat freaky to have 19 kids. When I was a kid we went to the Dallas State Fair every year. I was a free range kid so our parents turned us loose but we were strictly forbidden to go anywhere near the part of the midway where they had the freaks. And of course, that’s what totally fascinated me. Back to the Duggars - I maybe watched pieces of 4-5 shows. I was interested in the series where Michelle had the tiny premmie. That’s where I lost interest however because with this crisis I could see that the other kids were close to being neglected. I do question the judgment of going into a reality show with these dark events in their past.
This is a very insightful statement. I am a survivor of incest. I have watch the Dugger show almost since the beginning. I've always found the dad, JimBob, disturbing on how he would show the kids/or talk to the kids about how to kiss or such issues.
Having said that, I am conflicted on how I feel about how all this went down.
When I heard the interview, I thought they came over as real, but now I've done some more exploration into the family. The CEO of the Christian Center they sent their son to resigned because of sexual abuse allegations. It doesn't look like the charges stuck, but there were over 30 allegations. The state trooper is serving time for sex crimes right now. The Duggars knew who to go see to cover up the problem. I just read the reports on line. There was more to the charges than just touching through clothes.
I think more will come out on this story and maybe not just Josh.
Also the State Trooper is connected to child pedophilia:
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3102655/The-sickening-pedophile-crimes-Duggars-state-trooper-friend-failed-properly-investigate-eldest-son-Josh-molestation-young-girls.html
I'm beginning to believe that Jim Bob is very manipulative. He knew the State Trooper and he knew nothing was going to happen to Josh. It was a chance to “dot the i” in case someone found out about it later.
Josh's snide remark about incest on the show doesn't help.
I watched some of the TV videos of the show, which I had not seen before. It's all pretty much staged and scripted as others have stated. Pretty phony which is what makes this family sound weird.....and their lifestyle as much.....because it is.
I would not say at all they are a ‘representation’ of a Christian family as is depicted frequently. Rather there are some obvious cult type markers in how the family speaks and believes. Always with cults people do genuinely ‘believe’ what they're saying and doing even if they're being manipulated. However aside from their "weirdness" they were not chosen because of their faith...but because of their family size.
It really doesn't matter who the family sought out for help with Josh...the fact is the family could not be shown to be 'negligent' in handling this matter of Josh touching other family members....even if we might question those that they sought help from.
There's a lot of knit-picking after the fact that only confuses the actual facts...which we really don't know. Even so...this is the price people pay for seeking and obtaining 'celebrity status'...it goes with the territory.
I tend to think the father believes he can and will control the circumstances the family has to contend with. Regardless of what the fall-out is and might be...and regardless if others think or not he's handling things "correctly".
Bottom line is the family continues to feed the media and putting their family right out there for the "wolves" to devour. This is simply bad Judgement by the parents,....and I would suspect their church has a big hand in this as well, behind the scenes.
I think looking at the safeguards put in place is helpful to know what was going on:
1. No boys babysitting - Josh must have taken advantage of parental absence
2. Locks on the girls bedroom doors - self-explanatory
3. No more hide and seek - Something went down with that. I think it might have been the laundry room incident
Not so, according to the police report. It states that the father first became aware of the problem when one of the girls came to him, crying, and told him what her brother had done to her.
So the Duggar parents were either lying then, or lying recently.
Also, would you be inclined to leniency if a teenaged boy touched your own daughters' breasts and privates while they were sleeping, as opposed to being awake? I certainly hope not.
....” I’ve always found the dad, JimBob, disturbing”....
I think many see that as well...but I think people who have had their own experiences with cultish or sexual abuse themselves, or in their family, can see right thru Jim Bob the father and identify that type of control and manipulation he emits.. (btw.. sexual focus is ‘very’ common in cults..and usually goes to one extreme or the other).
I watched a few of the shows videos last night as there were specific things I would look for that would show cultish markers etc. The program itself is very scripted and the entire family always is in the “on” mode. So ti really isn’t “Reality”....it’s show business.
As to how this went down.....in “reality’ it began going down when the parents chose to have their family exploited on National TV. And further knowing very well what was in their history they assumed ‘the risk’ of being found out....and here there are today.
A few have tried to mischaracterize what happened as “playing doctor”, but the comparison is false.
Playing doctor is something young children do out of curiosity, and the participants are willing.
The police report states Josh Duggar engaged in FORCIBLE fondling, which was initially discovered when one of the girls went to her father in tears. Josh was old enough to be in high school, and the youngest sister he molested was five...when he got caught with his hand up her skirt, under the guise of reading her a book, he dropped the book and ran from the room, according to the report.
Your comparison doesn’t hold water.
There’s a lot of dodging and shifting throughout this public display so ‘the facts’ really aren’t being presented, all are attempting to put their best foot forward...exactly as they do on their program.
Unfortunately the family is behaving as if they’ve been victimized when in fact ‘they have chosen’ to air their laundry on the lines of the national and International media....good, bad or otherwise it’s out their by decisions they have made to do so.
Even though at first I believed the Duggars were acting in good faith, the fact that both the counseling center and the State Trooper are connected with child abuse makes me very suspicious of the Duggars. It may be more than Josh involved here. What about the other three girls? How do they feel? This affects everyone in the whole family. Evidently, Joseph was also sent to some academy connected to this same center. And that the family had all worked there at one time or another.
“Over 30 young women and teenagers came forward claiming they were sexually harassed by Gothard.
There were also reports that Gothard, who also runs the ALERT Academy which most of the Duggard boys have attended, was not reporting cases of child abuse.
He has long been a friend of the Duggars and even been featured on their TLC show 19 Kids and Counting.
ALERT Academy was also featured on the show when Joseph attended, with the entire family showing up for his graduation ceremony.”
Caww, I've always enjoyed and respected your posts, and I agree with practically all of them.
But please tell me you aren't trying to insinuate that folks who don't excuse the Duggars are either victims of abuse or know one, and are trying to resolve it by lashing out at that TV family.
Please tell me that's not what you're doing, because you are so much better than that.
However this is 'normal for them'...it does appear as if this family is under sway of what 'their church' deems their lifestyle should be. Their are cult like markers in how they speak and interact....but then what we are seeing and hearing is highly scripted...both in their show and these interviews they're giving.
Oh, I agree. I am just looking at the actual steps they took to secure the environment and back tracking that to what probably happened to justify those changes.
I think there may be more to this story that has yet to be told.
Gothardism is nothing but super-repressive legalism which Gothard devised so that he---and his brother---could have a source of young, naive, biddable girls to prey on.
The Duggars are not practicing Christianity. What they believe - (Gothard, Quiverfull) is “another gospel”. They are as hell-bound as the gays they love to hate on.
There are some....but certainly not everyone who have their own unresolved issues, which can and will affect how they see what’s happening with the Duggar family, and this favorable ‘and’ not so favorable toward the family.
Perspective can and does affect how people see and hear, especially when the facts are not clear...and they aren’t clear with this Duggar family’s current “episode” we see and hear playing out in these interviews.
I can understand “why” the family is attempting to straighten out what they ‘believe’ has been an unfair take on their problems. That does not mean I agree with how they’re going about it...and I don’t. ....I think they’re creating further problems to their family.
