Secret Pentagon Report Reveals US "Created" ISIS As A "Tool" To Overthrow Syria's President Assad
ZeroHedge.com ^ | 23 May 2015 | Tyler Durden

From the first sudden, and quite dramatic, appearance of the fanatical Islamic group known as ISIS which was largely unheard of until a year ago, on the world's stage and which promptly replaced the worn out and tired al Qaeda as the world's terrorist bogeyman, we suggested that the "straight to beheading YouTube clip" purpose behind the Saudi Arabia-funded Islamic State was a simple one: use the Jihadists as the vehicle of choice to achieve a political goal: depose of Syria's president Assad, who for years has stood in the way of a critical Qatari natural gas pipeline, one which could dethrone Russia as Europe's dominant - and belligerent - source of energy, reaching an interim climax with the unsuccessful Mediterranean Sea military build up of 2013, which nearly resulted in quasi-world war.

...

But it's one thing to speculate; it's something entirely different to have hard proof.

And while speculation was rife that just like the CIA-funded al Qaeda had been used as a facade by the US to achieve its own geopolitical and national interests over the past two decades, so ISIS was nothing more than al Qaeda 2.0, there was no actual evidence of just this.

That may all have changed now when a declassified secret US government document obtained by the public interest law firm, Judicial Watch, shows that Western governments deliberately allied with al-Qaeda and other Islamist extremist groups to topple Syrian dictator Bashir al-Assad.

McCain was demanding money for the “rebels” (Isis) and had his picture taken with them over there.

“Wow. So where does the Free Syrian Army fall in?”

I’m really not sure. We know they oppose Assad, but I don’t believe they are all that opposed to ISIS. They are not so “secular” as we were led to believe.

“Do they even have anything to do with ISIS?”

Not officially that I can tell, but haven’t some of their units defected to ISIS?

http://www.breitbart.com/national-security/2014/07/08/us-backed-moderate-free-syrian-army-factions-join-islamic-state-terror-group/

:Reports coming out of eastern Syria Monday revealed that several factions within the Syrian opposition force known as the Free Syrian Army (FSA) have pledged services to the Islamic State, the group formerly known as the Islamic State of Iraq and al-Sham (ISIS). Sources and eyewitnesses said that the FSA has handed over its weapons to the Islamic State in large numbers.”

And part of that is due to no one supporting the moderates 18 months ago but almost all revolutions get coopted by the radicals. So, yes, that adds to why the situation is difficult.

Now, as I said, there is this “Army of Conquest”, furthermore, the Al Qaeda branch in Syria, Al Nusra supposedly is at loggerheads with ISIS.

The truth is one would probably be able to find stories that some of their units are defecting as well.

ISIS raided that Palestine refugee camp near Damascus a few weeks ago but they got thrown out by according to the stories, the Palestinians who are fighting against Assad as well.

It’s difficult to know what is really going on there.

I might watch the occasional My little Pony episode but I don’t believe in unicorns. There is no such thing as a moderate muslim, least of all one waging jihad. The enemy of my enemy is my enemy, not my friend, nor my ally.

Only a fool or a liberal would arm or support them them because we have history to guide us. Those weapons are invariably turned against the interests of those so arming/supporting. And the people.

Really, that kind of view can be why a monster like ISIS is rampaging but if you put it down to how many ISIS or Assad has killed, can’t even be sure ISIS has killed more but Assad has had more time.

I don’t believe I stuttered. The Kurds are the closest to normal. And yes, they have helped us at times.

None of which matters. Their book teaches (paraphrased) My town and yours against the city, my house and yours against the town, You and I against our father, me against you.

Now I tend to think that muslims believe their books teachings. It really doesn’t matter what you and I believe about what THEY believe though. There’s over 1000 years of historical fact and a lot of dead infidels showing it. We are infidel. We are to be used to their advantage then conquered in the name of Allah. That does not stop at Kurd, Egyptian or Jordainian borders and I am amazed you would think it would. Do you think a muslim places his country over his Koran? They believe the planet is their country. The Koran spells it out clearly. So either you think Muslims are all kidding about their faith there is one fact based conclusion.

They aren’t.

The CIA and State Department are always on the lookout for new enemies to fund. Why is anyone suprised by this?

Actually, I largely agree with you, it’s a quagmire. If we could, I’d want to evacuate the Christians out of that godforsaken place and perhaps other decent people, set up a state for the Kurds.

It’s really a case for non-intervention but we did not want to do that in the first Gulf War, 1990-91 and here we still are, things are worse. I guess oil was important and that is why we went to fight but maybe we should not have.

The main difference between Kurds, Assad, and ISIS is that Politically the first two are Secular; not that they are “moderate muslims”.

IOW, neither the Kurds nor Assad want to establish a Caliphate. AQ and ISIS do want to establish a Caliphate (government), rule over others according to strict Islamic laws (Shariah) and traditions, and enforce them on others.

The two purposes for classification are to protect the interests of the United States and to cover the butts of those in the DoD . . .

And you think Obama cares about either of these?

#137 - secular applies to current Jordanian gov’t; am unsure of el Sisi, though so far he appears to be politically secular.
