:Reports coming out of eastern Syria Monday revealed that several factions within the Syrian opposition force known as the Free Syrian Army (FSA) have pledged services to the Islamic State, the group formerly known as the Islamic State of Iraq and al-Sham (ISIS). Sources and eyewitnesses said that the FSA has handed over its weapons to the Islamic State in large numbers.”
And part of that is due to no one supporting the moderates 18 months ago but almost all revolutions get coopted by the radicals. So, yes, that adds to why the situation is difficult.
Now, as I said, there is this “Army of Conquest”, furthermore, the Al Qaeda branch in Syria, Al Nusra supposedly is at loggerheads with ISIS.
The truth is one would probably be able to find stories that some of their units are defecting as well.
ISIS raided that Palestine refugee camp near Damascus a few weeks ago but they got thrown out by according to the stories, the Palestinians who are fighting against Assad as well.
It’s difficult to know what is really going on there.
