I have always wondered what makes a woman feel beautiful and comfortable stepping out of their homes only after wearing their makeup, most of them despite having flawless and beautiful skin and features. As silly as it sounds, I have always been intrigued by this. Guys, you can have all the fun you want with your comments but Im really looking to see the girls perspective on this.
Succinctly put.
Women are meant to be loved, not understood. Oscar Wilde
I don’t wear any, never have. Only recently got my ears pierced, on my 50th birthday. Too many skin problems when younger and makeup just made it worse.
It’s to simply look good to other people. Women’s self-esteem is fragile. I’ve had girlfriends who took less than 10 minutes to make-up, then I’ve had “those” that take me an hour to wait for them.
Actually I’m more curious why women have handbags and carry stuff in them. As a guy, all I carry are in my pants: wallet, phone and keys.
In my case, color! With blonde hair, beigeish skin, and beige eyelashes, I need something to brighten up. I use only natural colors but a little lip color is needed and a little brightness on the cheeks (just a tad). And mascara is a must with no color in my eyelashes. TMI?? :)
Women with darker hair color have darker eyelashes so they actually have some color on their face.
“HOW TO SATISFY A WOMAN EVERY TIME”
All that? Here in L.A., I just flash my platinum card and my Viper.
Great list, but where is “listen?” Hello?
Donning flame suit, retreating to the man cave for the rest of the day.
I don’t. It gives me a severe headache, doesn’t matter whether it says “hypo-allergenic” or sensitive skin or whatever. Every brand is the same. After about 30 minutes, I have a blinding headache. So, I stopped. Very liberating.
If I felt I had a choice, I wouldn’t wear make-up.
But as a single woman, I’ve seen it happen repeatedly — when a woman not wearing make-up stands next to a woman in make-up, all other things being equal, the guys will generally flock to the one in the make-up because, let’s face it, the basic point of make-up is (1) to hide flaws and (2) to create an illusion of greater beauty than actually exists and well, it works.
That's right I said it.
In some cases it doesn’t help, like my above post....
Why did Indian Braves wear war paint?
Answer, Intimidation factor!

PS Mrs Gandalf, for forty years has never worn makeup. She is beautiful in my eyes, always has been, always will be. Her one indulgence was to visit a hair salon, these days she frequents Great Clips (shameless plug!).

A metal card and a snake?
Fair enough, but the woman in that picture is wearing makeup. Lots of mascara.
The purpose of make-up is to give the impression of vitality to create the illusion that a woman is fertile. It’s also why they wear high heels, so they give the impression of a fuller butt.
I don’t care for makeup and rarely wear it other than mascara. I just don’t want to fool with it. Not wearing it on a daily basis also makes it more fun when I do dress up/wear makeup.
Then she needs to put the Dry Cleaner Bag and rubberband on so it will dry slowly...
She’s wearing mascara.
