YouTuber Tim Linton, who had just installed a dash-cam on his vehicle the previous day, captured the incident on film.
From what we understand, it all started at the 35-second mark when the fifth-gen Camaro driver tried to squeeze in front of the truck from the right lane. Instead of just slowing down, the pickup accelerated and the two drivers started bickering on the road.
The Camaro driver tailgated the pickup, and the pickup driver responded by riding right next to the large truck on the right hand side blocking the other motorist's way. Moments later, the Chevy driver tried to overtake the pickup from the left shoulder but he / she lost control and the pickup crashed into it leading all three vehicles off the road.

Must not have been his Camaro.
I see these a_holes everyday just like this punk.
Hope they sue the stuffings out of him!
"I drive in the left lane, if you don't like it, F you." That seems to be their attitude.
Later
Debate rages over at Jalopnik on this one. Nobody will defend the Camaro but many also hate the left lane vigilantes who think their job is to teach people the proper driving speed.
Only person I feel sorry for is the trucker and although the Camaro driver was an aggressor, there is video evidence of the pickup driver engaging in the road rage which could make him culpable as well.
The guy in the pickup was being a jack@ss. The moral is, let Karma do your work for you.
Is that why they do it? Maybe.
My theory was that they do it because the passing lane usually has fewer bumps and potholes.
I see these “I drive in the left lane” people all the time. They really bother me.
In this case, it wasn’t the pickup truck’s fault.
Watch the video again and you will see a vehicle in front of the pickup when the Camero tried to cut in from the right lane. They were driving way too aggressively. I wouldn’t want to let the punk in the Camero in either after he almost cause me to have an accident.
That all said, it would have been best from both of them to back off. That is what I would have done.
I don't have a problem with what the guy in the P/U did. Since when are we obligated to allow some a-hole to cut us off? I do that too. If they back off I let them go by. If they try to intimidate me I stay the course.
The pick up driver was playing games.
Idiot.
.
Please. The camaro signaled. The bozo in the truck closed the door on him. The camaro got pissed — we can all see how that worked out — but Billy Bob had it coming.
I don’t either. Matter of fact, I did this exact same stunt yesterday in my SUV to a punk trying to cross into my lane from 3 lanes over.
He backed off and we traded birds. Big deal....another day on the highway.
Most road rage is just speeding until some jerk decides to “teach the speeder a lesson”.
The Camaro driver is an idiot (mostly for owning a Camaro), but the pickup driver is the punk who turned a brief encounter into a minutes-long battle that caused the idiot to get really stupid.
My attitude is "whatever gets you away from me fastest and most safely."
If someone wants to rip down the road at lighting speed fine, pass me by all means. Thanks for triggering the speed traps ahead of us. Maybe I'll get to see you pulled over down the road.
Read the details of the story that was linked in the YouTube viewer comments. The guy in the Camaro was arrested for DUI and for driving without a license. It’s too bad his Camaro didn’t get run over by the tractor trailer.
I think Clark W. Griswold had it right when he said “You want to ride behind someone who does something like that?”. The answer? No, obviously.
And what’s up with the tail light out in a new car? I see that a lot with GM cars.
You blame the rape victim too?
If you tend to drive faster than traffic you constantly run into people who react aggressively to the fact that you closed in on them quickly. I understand being mad at tailgaters but just driving up fast and slowing with a reasonable distance between seems to anger some to the point where they do things like slow down to keep pace with the car next to them or brake when they don’t have to.
There are always the people cruising the fast lane not paying attention but for the people who actively try to keep you from getting around them and on your way I can’t think of any other motive.
