Four burly Swedish cops put their New York City vacation on hold to answer the call of duty on a Manhattan subway train last night.
The friends were on their way to see Les Misérables on Broadway, DNA Info reports, and rushed in to stop a brutal assault on a crowded rush-hour 6 train.
'We came here for vacation. Weve been here one day. Were no heroes, just tourists,' Makrus Åsberg, a 25-year-old officer with the police Uppsala, Sweden, told the New York Post. Mr Asberg, along with Erik Naslund, Samuel Kvarzell and Eric Jansberger, subdued an enraged homeless man who was viciously beating another rider on the train.
The Samaritan Scandinavians stopped the violence and held the attacker until the NYPD could arrive, the Post reports.
Video from the incident shows Kvarzell and Asberg holding the suspect down and trying to calm him down as he screams.

Probably figure those White boys wouldn't get involved, Probably screaming "Hands Up, Don't Shoot" while they had him pinned.
Interesting that there were no comments from the NYPD. Wonder why?
Exactly..., I was thinking of posting “Racists” as a reaction here, with /s tag.
Good for these guys.
That almost never happens!
Handsome blondes....
Anything you say Rev. Al.
bump
Totally agree!
I guess New York hasn't change much in the 35 years since I left.
So what you’re saying is you you like cops shooting Americans. I understand.
I was in Liseberg Park, Sweden's Coney Island, in the summer of 1971. The Swedish cops were rousting some local Yute (no not a vistor from the south) for drunk and disorderly. They were doing the full Rodney King all over him, six on one. The cops were big, but so was this guy, and he looked like he never knew what hit him.
In this instance in New York, if this jerk had caught a heart attack or resisted violently, this story might not have ended so well. My cousin was "on the job" on the NYPD for twenty years and never drew his piston once, including at least one tour in Harlem. Depends on the individual, I suppose.
Kudos.
I agree. My comment was a bit sarcastic, but I do believe the police in this country are too confrontational and quick to escalate the use of force.
Again. Anything you say Rev. Al.
You seem disappointed that no one was killed or seriously injured. Too bad.
Yup.
No. You seem stupid.
