Okay Freepers. Time to play Freeper MD.
For three weeks my hip has been killing me. left side.
Doesn't hurt when I jabbed with my thumb.
Has been hurting when I lay on it.
The last three days, it has been hurting when I sit.
My vainglorius head is getting bigger but, I discern no deformation or growth in the area of pain.
As I sit here typing this out, it is throbbing.
Get to guessing.
Bursitis? Just the fun of being a bit over 50? Hypochondriac? I'm no longer hip?
My guess it bursitis. I am pretty flexible. Can still nearly do the splits, though not as well I did when worked out all the time and I put my palms on the floor and go further just to show off.

Get on with it...
Just curious if y'all have any experience and it turned out to be something a cortisone shot took care of.

You should see your doctor.
If its more than a minor ache, its serious.
Don’t put if off.
I agree with bursitis. If you had no major, or recent, obvious injury at that spot, it must be inflation of something - most likely candidates are the bursa or tendons
Does Ibuprofin help?
Hate to break it to you but you are getting to “that age”. Earlier or later depends.
My hips hurt all the time. Sudden onset... bursitis... try ibuprofen, and anti-inflamatory of course.
Sometimes it is sciatica, pinched nerve in your pelvis to spine area. Pain can shoot down your legs and even attack a single toe! Dastardly to attack a single toe!
If I sit too long it is hard to get up but once I get moving it gets better.
My thoughts, could be wrong. Could be something really sinister but only you cna decide.
Most sick people get well if it is not their time. The ones that don’t will probably die anyway even with attention.
So it goes. I am past “that age” by a bit.

CoQ10 is an antioxidant. Nothing specific that I know of for neuromuscular conditions. More for vascular cell health (endothelial cell membrane integrity).
not at all, just not getting enough of what you need (the jello for your joints)
and the turmeric will help get rid of the inflammations
If Ibuprofen helps, it is probably inflammation related pain.
Also get some Fiji water and do not drink tap water for a week- I am really getting down on tap water and liking natural spring (Fiji tests at the right alkalinity to be real spring water)
I am getting a whole house filter and an ionizer- i drank some Fiji and it tasted so good- i think your body craves what it needs- go grocery shopping and buy whatever vegetables you really crave
I have been eating a lot of spinach and feta cheese salad for that reason (with dried cranberries and balsamic vinegar)
A note on those trying Gluten free- DO NOT buy expensive gluten-free foods- just STOP eating the ones you do buy like breaqd and noodles- you will save money because you will be MUCH less hungry- i lost 20 pounds)
I had terrible itching like crazy from breads- as soon as I stopped , the scratching went away- and it was seriously bad to the point where i was going out to buy $80 of anti-itching creams- it took me 2 years to figure out I developed a wheat allergy.
Try some benedryl- to see if you are allergic to anything that might be causing inflammation.
guess I’ll try it.
I feel shot...
I bet that’s the problem.
RE: cortisone shot
I know of 2 people years ago who got cortisone shots for bursitis.
Both said their bursitis would never be bad enough again for them to take those shots. The pain from the shot needle being stuck into their joints were worse than the bursitis pain.
So that’s great.
Now I know what’s been on my back all this time...
Good advice. I have had a lot of time in the PT clinic.
Hmmmm....true...
Maybe if you laugh hard enough...you will fix your hip!!
Like salt or S.A.L.T.?
I use to like Twinkies. They’re chok full of preservatives...
I am not sure about diet coke...but regular Coke contains Phosphoric Acid....nasty stuff dissolves the bones and you need a HAZMAT license to transport it.
Also most soft drinks contain tons of sugar...to be avoided...look at the label.
If you are doing stretching exercises...you may have stretched the ligaments too much ...without appropriate muscle strength to maintain the joint integrity.
X-rays are good...but a Cat Scan is better....
calcium, instaflex and the supplements with glucosimine and chondroitin...works to stop all my age related aches.
Pretty good advice.............
Oh and stop drinking sodas...my mom’s a doctor and said it was bad for ones bones and makes one have belly fat.
if the piriformis muscles are strained, they can crush that nerve, very similar symptoms. Had that happen about 10 years ago, almost couldn’t walk from the pain. Was more acute than most of the sciatica i have suffered for 20 years now.
