MONROVIA, Liberia As bodies littered the streets and the sick lay dying in front of overwhelmed clinics last year, President Obama ordered the largest American intervention ever in a global health crisis, hoping to stem the deadliest Ebola epidemic in history.
But after spending hundreds of millions of dollars and deploying nearly 3,000 troops to build Ebola treatment centers, the United States ended up creating facilities

No surprise at all.
We spend money.
But we don’t actually do anything.
The money goes into the pockets of those who support the caliphate. Obama’s creative accounting.
In this he succeeded brilliantly.
Well, he meant well. What’s a few 100 million here or there, right?

Mission accomplished.
The hysteria even infected the feds, and they were accused of not being hysterical enough, by some.
Another Liberal/Progressive idea that looked good on paper but failed in reality.
And the taxpayers get to pay for the massive screw-up.
Would be interesting to see the political donations of the U.S. companies that built these clinics.
You expect this government to actually do something right?
He also criticized President Obamas decision to send some 3,000 military members to West Africa. You also have to be concerned about 3,000 soldiers getting back on a ship. Where is disease most transmittable? When youre in a very close confines on a ship, we all know about cruises and how they get these diarrhea viruses that are transmitted very easily, he said. Can you imagine if a whole ship full of our soldiers catch Ebola?
It is a question of how that concern was applied. Keeping the disease in Africa made perfect sense.
For some of us, it made no sense to send troops and aid there to combat a disease which crossed our borders (and was even imported) with only the sound of either crickets or hollow assurances all was in control. A mere 100 cases would have overwhelmed the BSL-4 bed space in the US by a factor of 4+.
In the meantime, we import other diseases with a devil-may-care immigration policy and distribute them throughout the US.
As Government screw-ups go, this one is miniscule.
Just look at the 'Great Society', for one which is huge, ongoing, and seemingly boundless in potential to expand further. (Of course, as Margaret Thatcher said, "The problem with socialism is that, sooner or later, you run out of other people's money".)
The disease wasn’t imported, and it never caused us any problems here, and no soldiers got sick, and while this has been the worst outbreak of the dozens of outbreaks over the last 40 years, nothing much came of it and nothing of note in the United States or outside of Africa.
The screaming panic scaremongers were incredibly wrong about everything.
If you want a laugh, go back to the early threads and watch the raving loons screaming at everyone who was rational.
Seriously, go look at those early threads and read the madness and the hysteria, and how nasty about it they were.
Is there NOTHING that he can’t F up?
Duh.
it takes time to build buildings. In cities etc you take over schools churches etc to set up clinics, and in areas where there are none you set up tents.
