Chris Wallace should probably stick to grilling Republican presidential candidates.
Somehow, during a radio interview with conservative host Mike Gallagher on Friday, the Fox News Sunday host got pulled into a discussion about former American Idol star Kelly Clarksons weight. The two men were discussing Little Caesars bacon-wrapped crust pizza when Gallagher brought up fat shaming.
Have you seen Kelly Clarkson? You know the singer, Kelly Clarkson? Gallagher asked Wallace. Holy cow, did she blow up.
At first, it seemed that Wallace was going to avoid joining in on this bizarre line of questioning, saying he thinks Clarkson has got a lovely voice. But then, he let this comment slip: She could stay off the deep dish pizza for a little while.
Listen to audio below, via The Mike Gallagher Show:
Coincidentally, Clarkson appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show Friday, where she spoke out about her struggles with weight issues after giving birth to her first daughter last June.
I think what hurts my feelings for people is that Ill have a meet and greet after the show and a girl whos like bigger than me will be in the meet and greet and be like, Wow, if they think youre big I must be so fat to them, Clarkson told Ellen DeGeneres. And its like, youre just who you are. We are who we are whatever size. And it doesnt mean that were gonna be that forever.
Sometimes Im more fit and I get into kickboxing hardcore, she added. And then sometimes I dont and Im like
Id rather have wine.
Ok, maybe a few hundred.
To an orca, that's nothing.
Oh boy. Here it comes, Chris.
Hey, fat people are nothing but gorging gluttons who are pathetically incapable of controlling themselves & their raging appetites. EVERYBODY knows that!
(sarc necessary?)
If fat Kelly has a sense of humor I’m good with her.
Why yes, political correctness only protects certain privileged groups. There remains three minorities that "deserve" public mockery:
1. Christians
2. Smokers
3. Fat people (unless it's Oprah)
She looks fine but then again I’ve always preferred my women softer and well fed.
Greta just called him out...http://www.mediaite.com/online/greta-van-susteren-chris-wallace-should-apologize-to-kelly-clarkson/
I’m not a fan of sarcasm. Few do it well.
She can play Mama Cass if they ever do her biopic.
Its not always that simple as a matter of having or not having discipline. Sometimes there are complicated mental and emotional issues as well. Sometimes there are physical causes, such as an abnormal thyroid.
I’ve had a weight problem since childhood. Although I’ve lost weight, it’s still a lifelong struggle. I’m not looking for sympathy — it is what it is. But I wish people who have never had this problem would refrain from giving unsolicited advice and making pat judgments.
and because of idiots saying we should ignore social issues it has let the left define social issues and yes that goes for libertarians who could not care less about what is happening to Christians right now.
She is overweight-she has more than one chin-it is entirely her business if she chooses be overweight-but if she does, then she shouldn’t whine because people notice that she is fat and comment on it.
No, I’m not overweight, and haven’t been-my husband was in the military when I had my cub, and the military doctors were not PC and did not give a damn if your feelings were hurt-you either stayed within their 25-30 lb limit in pregnancy, or they would hand you a diet plan to follow and shame the hell out of you-I think it was a good thing. That I’m-fat-because-of-the-baby excuse is just that-an excuse to overeat.
I don’t eat processed food, and I’ve weighed the same since I was 17-I believe it is all about eating healthy, natural food.
hey! HEY! HEY!!
Don't know if we have to swing THAT low..
(lol!)
She’s a blimp!
Wonder how her husband feels about this?
One thing to be “pleasantly plump” but this is bordering on Honey Boo Boo territory.
I agree. I do other things during that time if I can. He always replays it in the last half hour too, probably so he can leave early.
> I agree with you, but she has gained a huge amount of weight in a fairly short amount of time. I cant blame people for being somewhat shocked, here.
Why is it anyone’s business? Wallace could certainly lose a few pounds, if you look at his jowls.
Amen.. As someone who does not have a thyroid anymore, I know weight can be a struggle. It has little to do with discipline, and possible weight gain is one of the less important issues when it comes to abnormal thyroids..
This actually shows that a number of fat girls could be very attractive if they just lost some weight.
