Thanks for the link.
Is the above bird a Kingfisher? Wherever I found it called it a Kingfisher but it doesn’t look like any pictures I have ever seen. It reminds me of pictures I have seen of a BeeEater.

Seems to be. There’s a quite a bit of variation in coloring. I’ve only seen the belted type around here.
Do an image search to get a feel for that.
Used to see a pair in a nearby beaver pond buried in a heavily wooded area.

To: trisham; All
Ingredients:
2 large oranges, 1/4 inch of top and bottom cut off
4 cups sugar, divided
3 cups water
Directions:
Cut peel on each orange into 4 vertical segments. Remove each segment (including white pith) in 1 piece. Cut into 1/4-inch-wide strips. Cook in large pot of boiling water 15 minutes; drain, rinse, and drain again. .
Bring 3 cups sugar and 3 cups water to boil in medium saucepan over medium heat, stirring to dissolve sugar. Add peel. Return to boil. Reduce heat; simmer until peel is very soft, about 45 minutes. Drain.
Toss peel and 1 cup sugar on rimmed baking sheet, separating strips. Lift peel from sugar; transfer to sheet of foil. Let stand until coating is dry, 1 to 2 days.
To Make Ahead:
Wrap and freeze up to 2 months.
Happy National Candied Orange Peel Day!

Heart Of Joy May 5, 2015
These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be full.
John 15:11
While waiting in the gate area of Singapores Changi Airport to board my flight, I noticed a young familymom, dad, and son. The area was crowded, and they were looking for a place to sit. Suddenly, the little boy began loudly singing Joy to the World. He was about 6 years old, so I was pretty impressed that he knew all the words.
What captured my attention even more was the look on the boys facehis beaming smile matched the words he was singing as he proclaimed to everyone at the gate the joy of the Christ who has come.
This joy is not limited to exuberant children nor should it be confined to the Christmas season. The overflowing joy of knowing Christs presence in our lives was one of the themes of Jesus final teaching with His disciples the night before He died on the cross. He told them of His extravagant love for themthat He loved them as the Father loved Him (John 15:9). After sharing what this eternal relationship looks like, Jesus said, These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be full (v.11).
What a promise! Through Jesus Christ our hearts can be filled with joyreal joy!
Lord, You have chosen me and redeemed me, crowned me with love and compassion. I can do nothing less than overflow with joy at Your great love for me, for those I love, and for the world.
In every season of life we can know joy in Christ.
: Jesus often spoke in picturesque language to help people understand what He was saying. In todays passage, He explains the relationship between Himself and His followers by talking about a vine. The key word in this passage is abide, which is used 10 times. We stay connected to (abide in) Him (the vine) by the power of the Holy Spirit, through the reading of His Word, and through prayer. In this way (the branches) remain in fellowship with Him and know true joy.
