Freep mail me to be on or off the Daily Bread ping list
No Need Is Too Trivial May 10, 2015
As a father pities his children, so the
Lord pities those who fear Him.
Psalm 103:13
Several mothers of small children were sharing encouraging answers to prayer. Yet one woman said she felt selfish about troubling God with her personal needs. Compared with the huge global needs God faces, she explained, my circumstances must seem trivial to Him.
Moments later, her little son pinched his fingers in a door and ran screaming to his mother. She didnt say, How selfish of you to bother me with your throbbing fingers when Im busy! She showed him great compassion and tenderness.
As Psalm 103:13 reminds us, this is the response of love, both human and divine. In Isaiah 49, God said that even though a mother may forget to have compassion on her child, the Lord never forgets His children (v.15). God assured His people, I have inscribed you on the palms of My hands (v.16).
Such intimacy with God belongs to those who fear Him and who rely on Him rather than on themselves. As that child with throbbing fingers ran freely to his mother, so may we run to God with our daily problems.
Our compassionate God doesnt neglect others to respond to our concerns. He has limitless time and love for each of His children. No need is too trivial for Him.
You take great delight in me, Lord, and quiet me with Your love. You rejoice over me with singing, like a mother singing a lullaby over her child. Thank You for Your tender love for me.
God holds His children in the palm of His hand.
: Isaiah has the most messianic references of any Old Testament prophetic book, containing extraordinary prophecies of both Christs miraculous birth and His atoning death. Todays reading begins a section of prophecies about the Divine Servant, highlighted by the description of His suffering in Isaiah 53. This suffering comes to the Servant from Gods own hand and ultimately finds its fulfillment at the cross where Christ bore the sins of the world.

~Welcome To Mother's Day Sunday~
At Amy's Place
Pino..."Remember When"
~Remembering My Mother's Love~
I remember, I remember, as I sit in quiet mood,
Scenes of childhood, tastes of Summer,
What a pleasant interlude!
I recall with certain odors, simple pleasures of the past,
Mother baking, Mother singing,
Times I hoped would always last.
Mothers love was like a blanket, shielding me from chill of night,
Gentle touching, soft caresses,
Weaving charms against my fright.
I remember, I remember, Mother always stood with me,
Could I love her as she loved me?
Could I love her endlessly?
Quiet moments fill with music, lullabies my Mother cooed,
As my days grow long and darkened,
These are now my dreamlife food.

It’s going to be another day, my boys forget I exist unless they need money or a unpaid baby sitter in the case of my eldest.
They live 22 miles round trip, I don’t even get a card. They ignored my birthday last year too.

A Mother Is ...
A mother is a messenger, who bears a precious gift,
And even in the wrapping tissue we find some gems to sift.
The more we learn of life, the more we stop and stare,
For how can such a wondrous thing be conjured out of air?
A mother is a vessel, a type of cooking pot,
Whose love provides the warmth so that it doesnt get too hot.
And she provides the nutrients, our flesh is of her soil,
And when the child is born its she who does the toil,
Of cleaning it, and feeding it, and teaching it to smile,
A small reward to mother for her efforts all the while.
A mother is a garden spot, where God instills a spark,
A holy flame to kindle for the worlds encroaching dark.
For every childs a candle, sent to fill the world with light,
And mother is the shielded hand that saves it for the night.
A mother does the work of God in bringing forth a child,
And Godly patience helps her to prevent its running wild.
We recognize her efforts with some flowers and a card,
Oblivious to the challenges she faced, and it was hard,
To make a sterling citizen from the plans placed in her head,
She had to compromise a bit, cause she got us instead.
