In Zombie lore it’s said that they can exhibit some behavior that appears normal. After dealing with walkers for a while, you would quickly know the difference between them and the wounded
TV show.
Absolute reality is way out the window.
Ping
They return to familiarity, which is why the one guy’s wife returns to their house. No motor skills to open the door, but it’s a familiar place / thing that walkers return to automatically.
Ok, who’s the guy they keep showing strolling through the field all by himself.
Some walkers imitate repetitive behavior they did in life and show a glimmer of intelligence.
For example, one walker (the wife of the black guy solo-hunter’s name who helped Rick) could kind of turn the door knob to her home.
A stuffed animal fits this mold for a small child.
Also, let’s face it, great visual.
Based on my experience with Zombies the little girl was a walker. Rick did the right thing.
Yea, but what’s with the red balloon in the latest episode?
If you want to deal with reality, zombies have no circulatory system so there is no way for the food they eat to provide nutrition to the cells. Therefore a zombie would rot away to nothing in just a few weeks.
Some people just don’t like stuffed animals

Stop trying to make sense of that nonsense . .
when they first started the series, the director had a different vision on how the walkers should behave then what was finally settled on when a different director was brought in. the original director wanted to give them a little more intelligence then what was the original comic book that the show was based on. the later directors and writer’s decided it was best to have it more in lines with the comic book.
Maybe they just didn’t have the show squared away yet....?
Who in their right mind would find this show remotely “entertaining”? Isn’t life disturbing enough? Don’t mind me; it’s an observation I make as I listen to several co-workers as they have their Monday morning discussion of the show.
Why quibble over a detail? The whole show makes no sense to me. Yes, I have tried watching it, but the gore is a bore, the characters are over-wrought, and the entire set-up is implausible.
Early in the series, the writers weren’t quite sure what level of ability they wanted the walkers to have. In a slightly later first season episode, Rick, etc. are trapped in an Atlanta department store, and a walker throws a rock through the glass to get at them. That wouldn’t happen now.
TWD ping!
Please let me know if you'd like on or off The Walking Dead ping list.
The little walker caught the scent of Rick and saw
the doll. Then she picked up the doll thinking
it was the source of the scent. Then she was going
to trade the doll to Rick for a nibble on his arm.
Rick is not a good bartering partner.
