McDonald's workers in 19 cities filed complaints over burns from grease, a lack of protective equipment and other workplace hazards, according to labor organizers.

This is the latest move in a campaign to win pay of $15 an hour and unionization for fast-food workers by publicly pressuring McDonald's. The push began more than two years ago and is being spearheaded by the Service Employees International Union.

I worked at a McD’s in the 70’s and yes, you could get burned if you were careless or stupid.

The first thing they taught us in both the culinary schools I graduated from is "A falling knife has no handle" and "There are no chairs in commercial kitchens"

Good advice. Stuff happens. Put on the big-boy pants and cope with the burns/accidents. Be careful. Don't whine.

Kitchen sentiment just a few years ago.

If McDonald’s does fall prey to these thieves, I will refuse to eat there.

For what they’ll have to charge I can get a better meal elsewhere.

And linen napkins...

I’ve got to think any robot would be a big improvement over the majority of fast food workers.

McDonalds will become the world’s #1 customer for specialized robotics.

Bingo.

I worked for McD’s while in college and you have to be pretty stupid and/or careless to get injured “on the job”.

Most of these whiners were injured in a botched abortion before they were born.

They need to take their complaint up with their mommies for not giving them the gift of aspirations.

Which is what the Left really wants. They DO NOT WANT the underclass to have any route out of dependency, so they strive to eliminate entry-level jobs which young people with no skills could actually hold.

My first “paycheck job” was at McDonald’s #330, from 1971 to 1973. Everyone got burned, cut, or bruised from time to time, and generally learned from it. I don’t recall the thought of PPE ever crossing my mind.

The ordinary paper hats weren’t so bad, but some of the promo hats really sucked.

I started out working at a small lumber mill. At that time just about anyone who had worked in a mill for more than a few years was missing at the least a couple of fingers. The fortunate one like myself had close calls where we left with only scars to remind us to be more careful.

Imagine being stupid on the farm or driving an 18 wheeler or working in a corn milling plant or a power plant or....

McDonalds little grease burns is where teens learn not to be stupid on the job so that someday maybe they can work in a really dangerous environment.

My son likes his new McDonalds job, by the way.

Good for him. I learned a lot about work at McD’s, the most important being that I didn’t want to stay there any longer than necessary.
