DALLAS (AP) The deaths of three people who developed a foodborne illness linked to some Blue Bell ice cream products has prompted the Texas icons first product recall in its 108-year history.
Five people, in all, developed listeriosis in Kansas after eating products from one production line at the Blue Bell creamery in Brenham, Texas, according to a statement Friday from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.

I went over briefly to the foul, disgusting DUmp and the loony leftists there are elated about this happening to a Texas-based company. Those unhinged, filthy 'RATs characterize the Blue Bell ownership as "Rupukes" [sic]. I now am nearly certain this was a case of sabotage and not the fault of Blue Bell. It has the mark of hussein and Soros all over it.
To spite them, I'm heading to Wal-Mart and will stock up on as many half-gallons of Homemade Vanilla as my icebox will hold. While there, I'll also get some of that good ground pepper from Adam's Best which I hear is a good Conservative company also based in Texas.
Somalians? Or UAW?
you gave me an idea..
it might not be the ice cream at all..
the contaminate might have been put on the patients food at the hospital..
hospital kitchen workers are not always clean in their habits either..and could be illegal aliens ..
or it could have been deliberate..
how many of those five were white ???
Ben an Jerry’s sux and that’s coming from a Vermonter. I can’t stand ice cream they have to throw the kitchen sink into to make you buy it.
plus more than just 5 would have had ice cream that day what happened to the others ??? was their ice cream contaminated too ???
Guess there’s more than just ice cream in a carton of Blue Bell’s.
I don’t think Blue Bell is particularly good, but I bet if it’s gotten worse and they’ve been cutting back, they’ve also been cutting back on sanitation procedures.
Listeria occurs in the soil and can also contaminate workspaces that handle milk or meat products, particularly things that are not pasteurized or heated at some point (fresh cheeses, such as Feta or queso fresco, for example). Some similar bacteria are killed by freezing, but unfortunately, freezing doesn’t bother listeria. So places that process this type of dairy or meat product have to be very careful about sanitation, and it looks like Blue Bell wasn’t.
By the way Ben and Jerry’s is now owned by Pillsbury ( think Hagen-Daas). The Commies took their capitalistic cash-out a long time ago.
I'm coming around to that line of thinking. Take a look at the companies under attack from DemonRATs. This is a list published by the radical leftists at Think Progress, a bunch of nuts in the same grouping as the ACLU and the SPLC. Their aim is to destroy not only the Koch Brothers but smaller companies, such as Blue Bell, that support pro-American causes.
It is NOT the half-gallon ice creams, thank goodness, as I just started on a Blue Bell Banana Split tub...
From the article:
The FDA says listeria bacteria were found in samples of Blue Bell Chocolate Chip Country Cookies, Great Divide Bars, Sour Pop Green Apple Bars, Cotton Candy Bars, Scoops, Vanilla Stick Slices, Almond Bars and No Sugar Added Moo Bars.
And then someone did not do a swab test.
I was often considered a pain in the fourth point of contact because I insisted that at least six swab tests had to be taken and then results needed to be back before the product went out.
I hated recalls.
Do you think this was negligence (probably by an illegal) or a case of deliberate sabotage? I generally apply Occam's Razor to such things but the world became a different place starting on January 20, 2009 when a criminal regime seized power with the intent of destroying the Republic. In the fictional world of Frank Underwood, anything can happen. In the all-too-real world of hussein and his henchmen, it's clear they'll do anything to advance their wickedness.
Good for you. While back I was shopping at our local Dollar Tree and found some awesome Ginger Snaps made by Fehr Foods in Abilene, Texas. Bought all they had and now have to go on the hunt for more. Can’t seem to get supply of ginger snaps to come out even with the Blue Bell.
It is not hard to miss a step. In this case I would speculate that someone reused cleaning solution rather then mixing up a new batch under the theory "Hey it is cleaning solution, how dirty can it be?"
That is why I insisted on swabs.
You get somebody new, somebody in a hurry, someone a bit absentminded and you get mistakes. Probably it is something that happened before and that time there was no deadly bug present that freezing doesn't kill. So you do it again. It is just a little short cut. Nobody gets hurt. Until the time that they do.
I like their Vanilla Bean vanilla even better!
cheap cut rate crappy ice cream anyway; full of garbage chemicals and lots and lots and lots of sugar:
Milk, Cream, Sugar, Skim Milk, High Fructose Corn Syrup, Corn Syrup, Natural And Artificial Vanilla Flavor, Cellulose Gum, Vegetable Gums (Guar, Carrageenan, Carob Bean), Salt, Annatto Color.
Liberals hate Blue Bell, therefore I like it. Liberals like Ben and Jerry’s, therefore I hate it. My worldview is that black and white.
In no way could you confuse Blue Bell and Blue Bunny.
Blue Bell is real ice cream but I’m not at all sure what Blue Bunny is other than frozen... at that point the similarity to ice cream and Blue Bell ends.
I’d be shocked if 1 person in 1000 randomly asked at a grocery store could describe the political “leanings” of Blue Bell ownership/management.
No unions, having heard stories from people who work there, I won’t eat Jennie-o products anymore. The company has changed a lot to accomodate Somalian employees.
