A Dallas bride-to-be has been left devastated 36 days before she says 'I do' after a mix-up over her doily-covered wedding invitations.
Natalie DeGraffenreid ordered custom, doily-decorated invitations from the Arlington-based company, Art by Ellie. But what she received in the mail was not what she ordered.
Her distress began when she opened the package from stationary firm - half of her invitations had the wrong doily design.
DeGraffenreid was so upset about the doilies that she turned to her local ABC TV station to warn others of her experience.

Run Forestina, run!
Whenever I see a guy who has a few daughters all around the same age, that’s the first thing I think about, “I hope this guy is saving up now for their weddings.”
She looks almost too old for him, especially in the other pics in the article.
Real men don’t use the word doilies.
Bring a loupe and buy vintage :)
A friend of mine, years ago, told his bride-to-be:
"Honey, I'll pay for the wedding. I might even show up for it. But don't ask me to plan any of it"
A man I know was sneaky with his daughter. Rather than paying for the wedding, he just decided how much he was willing to pay and handed her the check, telling her "spend it as you wish, wedding, honeymoon, whatever".
Suddenly, when it was now HER money that she would be spending, she became much more frugal regarding the idea of a super-expensive one-day party, decided to instead have a small simple ceremony for close family, and put the balance toward buying a house. Heh.
He should change his name to Satan because he’s going to be living in Hell.
That’s great :)
Yep, exactly.
Weddings seem to turn some women into self-involved tyrants. I never wanted to deal with details like doilies, caterers, or any of that stuff. I'm glad we eloped. (Nineteen years ago and going strong).
Is it just me or do the both of them look like products of inbreeding.
That’s one fella that’s in for a rough life. Take her to the Caribbean, have LOTS of fun, but do not marry that child woman.
You were warned.
The organ wasn’t available for the wedding.... (not gonna say it, not gonna say it,,,,)
“Diamonds are highly manipulated to increase their price.”
If anyone doesn’t believe you, go try to sell your used diamonds.
“Almost as soon as she graduated, she decided to get married and he had to pony up almost $50,000 for that”
That’s on him. He should have given her 10k,,and told her to spend it however she thought was best. And that’s generous. A fine, memorable and happy wedding could be held for half that.

If you raise em right, it ain’t such a problem. Your own church is right there. There are amazing parks, backyards, and fraternal halls all around you. Go to the Mexican side of town for a dress as good as money can buy for pennies on the dollar. Walmart had flowers last time I was there. And I bet you could order special ones even.
And lo and behold, in the process, you are teaching them how to be a good wife. Funny how that works out. Almost like it was a plan of some kind.
She probably won’t have babies.
And what was your erstwhile Florist’s reaction to your cancellation and successful flower delivery?
When it comes to weddings, many women have egos bigger than Texas.
(((
And they spend all that time and energy planning that one day while ignoring the planning of the marriage itself.
Good for you.
These girls could save so much money on their dresses if they were willing to go second hand. Once upon a time, women had their wedding dresses preserved so that they could be handed down to their daughters, many of whom were not interested in mom’s gown. Those gowns can now be had for very little money.
