Did Ford just jump the shark?

So I opened the email and to my surprise up popped "SAVE THE ERF" from Ford.
The narcissism of this junk science has reached it's peak "imo" in
every aspect of our lives feeding us the propaganda of Big Government
and Socialist agendas. Those people who are doing this have no clue
how truly useless they've become when they take junk science like this
and promote it thinking they're going to Save the Planet.
What audacity and utter incompetence. Fellow humans must be in an out of control
egotistical state to actually think that we can control this planet. Earthquakes,
Volcanoes, and the big kahuna, the Sun.
Charlton Heston on Global Climate Change
To Ford, you have lost my business completely now. My company trucks will be
looking elsewhere for service on your Ford products. This is an insult to not
only common sense, but to humans and our Creator, God almighty. You see,
Man is not God, Man cannot be God, and Man will never be God.
And most important of all, Man will never control this planet over God.

Save the planet, get a tune-up.
I can't think of anything to compare that to. It's to stupid for me to comprehend.

Remember his junk science nonsense about inflating tires? Since I oppose everything he's for, I've made a point since then to under-inflate my tires by 2 PSI. And I'll keep on driving like that until the Kenyan criminal is drummed out of office.

Yea I remember that, and the MSM ran with it like Oba was a genius. A good grief moment in history.

If you are taking a high mileage car to the dealer for service, your problems are bigger than the Glow - bull warming problem.
You do understand that the manufacturer can’t own a dealership in Texas, don’t you?

How is owning a classic a bigger problem? And work trucks with 80k+ isn't really high mileage.
That's not really the point of the post anyway.

They'll probably sell the fools on a muffler bearing replacement
Also the Johnson rod needs to be rebalanced and the thermoknocker shaft bushings are probably worn out, hey better safe than sorry.

You can generally do a lot better getting out of warranty work done at a trustworthy local shop than you can at the dealer. Dealer service is almost always going to be the most expensive option.

If it’s a diesel, just change the oil and the fuel/air filters at the suggested intervals, and you’re good to go.

When Ford decided to go all European on their lineup, that's when they jumped the shark. That was done when:
• Cars that were too American (read: Panther, E-Series van platforms) were removed from the lineup
• They downgraded everything to match the Europeans (I-4's in cars, 6's in trucks)
• They threw EcoBoost in everything with the thought it could make up for displacement (nope).
• They offered an I-4 in the Mustang.
• They faked audio, knowing that the engines wouldn't otherwise sound right for their audience.
Shame that Ford didn't show that sign to all the environmentalists - instead of pandering to them 110%.

If they really cared, the tune-ups would be free. Somebody should call Service Manager Gary and tell him that.
To: Charles Martel
Yeah, they tried to sell my wife a fuel system flush for $150.
I told her we’d put in a can of fuel system cleaner for$5.

This is on par with those hotels that ask you to have the towels washed once a fortnight to save the planet.
Do note, however, that there is nothing in there about climate change and carbon dioxide is NOT listed as one of the bad emissions. And yes, carbon monoxide is a poison . . . trivial given what happens to it once it enters the big ol’ atmosphere, but a poison nonetheless.

When they started calling their turbos "eco-boost" it should have been evident that they were trying for the "green" arm of the market too - can't blame them since a small percentage of the market can be a big financial boost.
What are they supposed to do - say that pollution from mis-tuned engines is a good thing?

I have to mention lefty Texan Hall of Famers like Jim Hightower and Ann Richards. What I cannot get is why ANY district in Texas would elect a crazy lady from Queens, NY like Sheila Jackson Lee.

Nothing wrong with pointing out a properly tuned engine gets better mileage. Yeah the current “reason” people want improved mileage is “global warming” but so what, better mileage is better mileage.

First, there are plenty of blacks who are not lazy. Not only two of my children, but many of my best co-workers are black. Certian urban subcultures, of cours, have their own characteristics.
Given that SJL represents such a district, aren't they able to find a local lazy Texan to do the job?
