Celebrating the fifth anniversary of Lets Move! First Lady Michelle Obama explains to Cooking Light magazine that she had to get empowered in her own household to eliminate processed food.
Part of that experience was her personal fight against boxed macaroni and cheese, which, she admits, her kids loved.
At the time, her chef friend Sam Kass explained that boxed macaroni and cheese wasnt real food and so the family shouldnt eat it.
My kids loved the macaroni and cheese in a box, she explained. And he said, if its not real food then were not going to do it.

Thanks for the recipe, Diana, I’ll pass it on to the Mooch...

.... her chef friend
They have been having the taxpayers paying for a personal chef since the early 1990’s.
She knows nothing about cooking.
She sat there for 30 minutes trying to pulverize a block of cheese into dust. I mean, she was really focused on it, and it just didnt work, so she had to give up, she said. And from then on, we stopped eating macaroni and cheese out of a box, because cheese dust is not food, as was the moral of that story.
That isn’t just ordinary stupid right there, that’s full-retard.
I agree. I make delicious homemade Mac and cheese. The grandkids won’t eat it because it tastes different from the box stuff......and It is what they’re used to and like!
I recently bought some cheese ravioli in a box on Arthur avenue in the Bronx. That’s pasta and cheese in a box. If you want to go to Arthur ave in the Bronx and tell them that’s not real food, bring help.
I guess I’m weird but I love the new bowls of noodles. They’re really nothing but upgraded ramen but for a buck a bowl you can’t beat em for a quick lunch.
You forgot to save back some cheese for the top and bread crumbs. Other than that that’s more or less how I make mine.
Moosecheele, a typical liberal, is on the attack against middle and low income families that rely on the very foods she claims they should not eat.
Why does the Obama’s HATE low and middle class families???
“Snobbery. It looks nothing of the sort. It tastes good, and it is as healthy if not more so than homemade that people rave over. Its a good product.”
Damned straight! These food snobs have a box in their pantry right now. I do. When you’re sick, Mac-n-Cheese with hotdogs is good stuff for a sick stomach.
Hell, these liberals snobs claim none of us could have possibly survived since we did things like eat Mac-n-Cheese, rode bikes without helmets, and got vaccinations.
Besides, I bet, as SkyDanger posted the ingredients for Kraft Mac-n-Cheese, that those claiming “real” Mac-n-Cheese recipes have far worse ingredients in them.
I think the Food Channel snobbery has people stuck up with their noses in the air, yet, that couldn’t cook a decent mac-n-cheese to save their hides. People have watched waaaaaay too much TV and now think even store bought Catsup, which they do buy, is something to be shunned. You must make it yourself! HA! BS! None do. Mac-n-Cheese included.
“If you tell a kid some food is healthy and good for them, they become very suspicious and wont eat it.”
I am guilty as charged. I was a TERRIBLE eater as child. My mom was a great cook, but “healthy” was just a turn off to me. I just know my mom used to use reverse psychology on me to get me to eat different things, like saying, “Well, it’s not very good, but I thought I’d try it. Kinds of tastes like frog guts, really.” It probably worked, too!
“RAMEN NOODLES - The breakfast of college students.”
To this day, I like the Maruchan Instant Lunch cups. When I am working and don’t feel like a big meal at lunch, I like to have one. Filling and tasty. Also, still only $0.29. I can afford to eat caviar if I wanted, but that’s not what I want. I get tired of the snobs of the world trying to tell me what to eat.
“Blessed are the children whose moms make real macaroni and cheese.”
Hated the stuff. Never liked it. Most kids I ever knew didn’t, either.
One word...bacon.....
Are you kidding? She’s way too busy bitching about some kids that still get to eat what they like.
LOL, Grifters have always been good at sliding their way into such things.
No shame in doing what it takes to get by.
A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away:
#1 son swore he could tell the difference between kellogs fruit loops and the generic kind that came in a bag and would not eat them.
For a couple of years I kept a kellog fruit loops box filled with the generic ones and he never knew the difference.
I'm 67 yrs old and still love FrancoAmerican spaghetti.
I have it for breakfast sometimes.
