MIAMI — Miss Colombia, Paulina Vega, was crowned Miss Universe on Sunday night, while Miss USA, Nia Sanchez, came in second. The other finalists, chosen from among 88 contestants, were Miss Jamaica, Kaci Fennell; Miss Ukraine, Diana Harkusha; and Miss Netherlands, Yasmin Verheijen.
Vega, of Barranquilla, Colombia, granddaughter of the legendary tenor Gastón Vega, said the contests leading to MIss Universe were the first she'd participated in and would be her last as she's eager to return to her studies in business administration.

Notice that nobody from the British Isles never win these things? Nor do southern USA debutantes? I liked Brazil and Jamaica the best this year.
Yowza! Man, if I were 15 years younger...they could all turn me down for a date!
BTW, Miss Colombia looks a bit like the actress Catalina Moreno (who is also Colombian), but curvier.
Another strange thing - most of these contestants have the height and looks to be supermodels, yet they never seem to become supermodels a la Christie Brinkley or Naomi Campbell.

Because these beautiful women lack the unique ability to starve themselves for approximately 15 consecutive years.
I was watching the Pro Bowl, but checked the pagent during the ads and timeouts.
Early on, I picked Jamaica and USA to be the final two. Jamaica was beautiful!
I was surprised that Colombia won; she’s not very pretty compared to the other two and has a pear shaped body.
What do beauty pageants and BBQ contests have in common?
The judges.
These girls are okay, but the are not the prettiest, and BBQ contest BBQ absolutely sucks. I think they’re using the same judges for both.
