Obama travels overseas with hundreds of people and plane loads of equipment. There’s no way to arrange such a royal visit in a matter of 3-4 days... It speaks more to the massive scope of the US bureaucracy and our imperial politics

As more than 40 heads of state locked arms and marched through the streets of Paris on Sunday, one country was noticeably absent: the United States.
While President Barack Obama took heat from political foes for failing to attend a historic event that drew major world leaders, he also was criticized by members of the mainstream media.
CNN’s Jake Tapper said he was “disappointed” not the President Barack Obama there.
According to an administration official, President Obama spent part of his Sunday afternoon watching a National Football League game on television. Both games were broadcast hours after the march.
