President and Michelle Obama personally identify with everyday experiences of racial bias in America that have underpinned recent protests across the country, they told People magazine in an interview to be released Friday.
“Barack Obama was a black man that lived on the South Side of Chicago, who had his share of troubles catching cabs,” Michelle Obama told the magazine.
On one occasion, she said, her husband “was wearing a tuxedo at a black-tie dinner, and somebody asked him to get coffee.”
President Obama said he’s even been mistakenly treated as a valet.
“There’s no black male my age, who’s a professional, who hasn’t come out of a restaurant and is waiting for their car and somebody didn’t hand them their car keys,” he said, according to excerpts of the interview released today. …

They are in their 50’s. Most everyone by that time has been mistaken for “the help” in one way or another. If that is the only thing they have they have nothing.
I suppose people who never go out to stores or restaurants have never been asked, “Do you work here?” But the rest of us have. I know a guy in his 30’s who is white and can’t go to a Home Depot type store without being asked for help. He just looks like he has the answers. LOL!

If you are just standing in front of a fancy restaurant and you are a MAN, you might be mistaken as the valet. Big dumb deal.

Only days before he will nominate Barack Obama for re-election, a new report claims that in 2008, former President Bill Clinton said of him: “A few years ago, this guy would have been carrying our bags.”
Clinton allegedly made the racially insensitive remark to Sen. Ted Kennedy as he tried to convince the liberal lion to endorse his wife, Hillary, Obama’s rival for the Democratic nomination, according to The New Yorker.
Kennedy endorsed Obama.
The author of the article, Ryan Lizza, said he he heard about the comment from legendary NBC newsman Tim Russert, who died in 2008.
The reported comment was similar to one attributed to Clinton in a 2010 book.
“A few years ago, this guy would have been getting us coffee,” Clinton is quoted as saying in “Game Change,” by John Heilemann and Mark Halperin.

That’s bull, I handed him a broom and told him to get busy.
I was walking through the parking lot of a car dealership last week, having regular maintenance.
Because I was walking by the garage, a couple approached, thinking I was an employee, and asked If I could tell them when their car would be ready, before I could stop them, they complained its the 2nd time in for a repair, etc. etc...
Grow up Obama - stop being a child. It happens everywhere.
Happens to me all the time @ Home Depot. In fact, they should put me on the payroll. I’ve sold quite a few chainsaws for them.
Likewise, and at WalMart, Target, and other stores. It’s a matter of dressing sanely and looking competent.
