OK, please take this in the humorous spirit that it was meant.
But let's face it, "Johnny Football" should go back to leading the aerobics classes.
And also, we must also face it that Tebow was just OK in a league that needs great out of the gate (watching Manziel EXACTLY reminds me of Tebow).
I always thought electrical code was shocking....or enlightening...or electrifying EEEVUNN! (With a hat tip to Yogi Bear).
>>Johnny put a bullseye on his back when he walked on that draft stage giving the money sign....marked him.
<<
All the subtlety of Ryan Leaf.
>>I always thought electrical code was shocking....or enlightening...or electrifying EEEVUNN! (With a hat tip to Yogi Bear).<<’
It is important the code be current, though...
Announcer finally admits that Manziel has no help from his offensive line. And the Bengals are playing great football. Not an excuse. It just is.
>>So let’s NOT take this in the humorous vein in which it was intended. Let’s take it for what it is: name-calling with one’s fingers crossed.<<
Tebow was awful as an NFL QB. It isn’t name-calling if it is correct.
Watching Manziel is like watching Tebow. Both operate at 2/3 speed needed in the NFL.
That is the analogy. Tebow’s Christian showboating was actually irritating to me which is why I phrased it like I did.
But YMMV.
>>Announcer finally admits that Manziel has no help from his offensive line. <<
I don’t think that is the case. Manziel hasn’t put the o-line in a position where it can do anything. With no pass available, how are they supposed to handle a D that is designed to stop everything between 3 and 7 yards? It can’t be done.
This is pretty much on Manziel and the D I drew up upthread is taking advantage of his lack of ability.
Maybe a few years in the CFL will give him the seasoning he needs.
The Browns need to hire Tebow. Give him a shot.
They say he has a good golf game. Maybe he needs to try and make the PGA tour.
I never followed Tebow much in college, but I’ve read his book. If he wants to, he’d make a superb coach at the college level. And those guys are making serious dough these days.
>>The Browns need to hire Tebow. Give him a shot<<
it would test my thesis more precisely.
Please don’t call him ‘Johnny’.
It reminds me of Unitas.
And this Johnny, playing for the Browns, ain’t no Unitas by a very long shot.
If Manziel was arrogant when he was drafted— the Browns should have started him all season. The arrogance might have served him wellthrough a few games
Now he looks as though he has no self-confidence. That watching the season has left him convinced (as many of us were fro the start) that he simply doesn’t have what it takes to play in the NFL.
He either doesn’t have the arm, or he hasn’t figured out you can’t throw floaters in the NFL. I think his arm is marginal.
Good thing for Johnny that Cleveland fans are so forgiving.
Speaking of arms — any QB who, like Manziel, can be tackled with one hand should not be playing QB in the NFL.
Manziel laid an egg as did the entire team.

I am staying with “Howie” for the rest of his NFL career (2-3 games).
Yes. Or everything could get out of phase.
Merry Christmas
>>Merry Christmas<<
And a Happy Newton Year. May Santa bring you Watt you asked for. Erg where you naughty?
