So how are we all faring here in the face of this deadly NorCal storm?

Since my house didn't blow away and I still have power I'm doing a cookathon laundry extravaganza!

Is this storm living up to all the hype? They cancelled school in at least three counties because of this storm. Mass hysteria. Statewide panic.

Due to man-made climate change, the government could not cancel nor delay the storm for those were too distraught over the Michael Brown nor the Eric Garner killings. However, they are planning a new tax that fund efforts to do just that.

Water from the sky, kind of a novelty lately in San Jose.

A few spots in the north Bay got hammered this AM though.

Partly cloudy and breezy/gusty in Reno. Temp about 54 deg f. Supposed to get to us, precip wise, after midnight. Some power out and trees down from gusts earlier. 73 mph at the airport. 112 mph at Alpine Meadows. 8 ft waves on Lake Tahoe and yes, there are some folks trying to catch a wave. :>}

How bad could it be?

It’s not like this rain of type I experienced in Oklahoma.

That was real rain.

I did receive an emergency notice on my phone that we are under a “Flash Flood” warning until 1:45.

Don’t know what’s gonna flood. There aren’t really any creeks or rivers around here.

Lotta rain here in Los Gatos. Living in what is essentially a seasonal creek bed we’re doing alot of pumping to keep water out of the house.

Damm!!!

I’d love to see 8 ft waves on the lake.

It’s usually like glass when I visit in the winter.

In San Rafael, it’s very rainy and has been all day, but I wouldn’t call it ‘Biblical’ in proportions. There are spots of pooling or shallow flooding, I dont’ see any flying trees yet, or hear them smashing against windshields on parked cars. Still, this is not a day to be out driving if you don’t really have to do it. Zero thunder so far, so it’s not the tropical type of thunderstorm often seen here. Tropical type storms can result in double rainbows after all clears up.

I love it.

For the past year all we’ve heard about is this terrible draught we’ve been in.

Now the rains are finally arriving and people are still complaining.

They’re letting everybody go at 4:00 so we can get out of town before it hits.

Good night to go home, cook a chicken pot pie, and watch football.

No laughs from me. I live in Western PA and every flake of snow is cause for widespread panic. I’ve lived here all of my 62 years. It’s December, people. Snow is normal!

Sure hope you have your milk, bread and toilet paper. :)
