President Barack Obama, who had medical tests on Saturday after complaining of a sore throat, is suffering from acid reflux, the president's physician said.
"The president's symptoms are consistent with soft tissue inflammation related to acid reflux and will be treated accordingly," Obama's doctor, Captain Ronny Jackson, said in a statement.
Acid reflux is a condition in which the stomach contents flow back up from the stomach into the esophagus, causing such symptoms as heartburn and sore throat.

Obama, 53, went to Walter Reed military hospital for a fiber optic exam of his throat and since swelling was detected, doctors decided to perform a CT scan as well, Jackson said.
"The CT scan was conducted this afternoon purely as a matter of convenience for the President's schedule. The CT scan was normal," Jackson added.
Jackson said he recommended Obama go to Walter Reed for the tests after the president complained of suffering from a sore throat over the past couple of weeks.
Jackson did not give any cause for Obama's case of the illness.
There are many risk factors for acid reflux, including smoking, use of alcohol and hiatal hernia, according to the U.S. National Library of Medicine. Most people respond to lifestyle changes and medicines, although many patients need to continue on medication to control their symptoms.

I’ve been taking omneprazole for 20 years for GERD (acid reflux) and I smoke, but I’m not a homo...
Winning!!!
I'd like to think it was AIDS.
Chronic sore throat -- and also chronic swollen sub-maxillary glands -- are not caused by heartburn, but by GERD.
It's a good idea for him to quit smoking right now. Smokers are many times more likely to get Barrett's esophagus, and then throat cancer from GERD than non-smokers are.
This could have easily been avoided, all he had to do wass stick to Michelle’s rabbit food diet.
Yup. Sleeping right after eating is not good.
you’re not a homo.... homogenized?
lol
Acid reflux is a bad problem. I have had it for about 25+ years. A few months ago I woke up with my throat burning like fire. The dr said the acid had come up into my throat and got in my lungs. Had bronchitis for weeks. It was terrible.
“The CT scan was normal,” Jackson added.”
I am glad the procedure was normal.
How about the results, can Jackson tell us if the results were normal, abnormal, or revealed a disease??
I know, I had to cure my husband’s Barrett’s esophagus with a parasite cleanse using the cancer dosage. His doctor went nuts and asked what he was doing, and he got confused and told him about the vinegar and water dosage. That was years ago, and he is still clear there....but didn’t learn his lesson on smoking until too late.
However he did not escape the COPD/oxygen. No longer smoking, but some people just don’t understand the dangers, I never let him smoke inside, that’s a no no. I go not want smoke in my house. I am a believer in alternative medicines, but do visit a doctor each year.
I think we would all like to think it’s something other than....
"Acid Reflux" is a generic term and could also include "Barret's Esophagus"
In any case, this ain't really news.......
Mick would write it as: Reggie’s Spooge Reflux!
If it is that bad, consider a Nissen fundoplication.
It can be done with a laparoscope. Recovery time is a couple of weeks.
Ask your doctor.
They should test for gonorrhea and chlamydia
It’s probably just a dog bone splinter caught in his throat.
The CT scan was normal, Jackson added.
But not allowed under any Obamacare plan!
