The early NFL Thanksgiving game (Lions and Bears) has turned into a liberal lovefest for Detroit's faux renaissance. Phil Simms and Jim Nantz are breathless with their admiration of the so-called "rebirth" of that DemonRAT city. Carefully-staged photos of downtown are then spoken in reverant terms by the announcers. I'm sure See-BS is forcing this narrative.
Please Phil and Jim, just shut up about the failed city and focus on the game! Until and unless free-market Conservatism is allowed to flourish in Detroit, it remains a third world cesspool.
ping.
They’re a good team. Haven’t heard them mention the city. Don’t really care. If the city is coming back that would be nice, it’s got a lot of history, it’s a shame how it’s killed itself.
Let those two go live in Detroit for a week if they think it’s so great.I don’t mean staying in a swank hotel downtown either.
Nantz isn’t too bad, but Simms is insufferable - along with the fact he refuses to say “Redskins”.
Yes the Lions are quite good and I favor them today because of Matthew Stafford's connections to Texas. He was a great QB for Highland Park, a Conservative oasis in liberal Dallas County. See-BS ran a piece at the start of the game with Smokey Robinson waxing poetic about how Detroit is on the rebound. That's leftist propaganda since the city is still ruled by DemonRATs.
Like Romo, Stafford is much more effective if he actually could get any kind of consistent running game.
But at the state level Michigan is leaning more Republican these days.
>>tafford is much more effective if he actually could get any kind of consistent running game.<<
That is true for every QB in football (pro or college).
Cities can rebound even with dems in charge. Government doesn’t decide nearly as much as the people.
Every city is going to eventually go through what Detroit is going through.
Detroit is the first one that bottomed out, they’ve got nowhere to go but up.
I never understand how liberals pick their outrages to be upset about. Now we are supposed to be outraged about American Indian nicknames. Who decided that we are supposed to be outraged about this subject? Who issued the decree that this is the cause celebre of the day? It seems that all of a sudden there was lots of talk about this subject.
I’ll forgive Stafford for playing for the Leg-Humpers in college, though.
I think, at his core, Jim Nantz is a good man. He's a Southerner by birth and a Texan by choice, both positives in my book. Plus, he seems to be tending toward Conservatism and is a friend of Bush 41. That's why I think all the fawning over the false rebirth of Detroit is being pushed on him by the leftists that run See-BS.
I think Cleveland and Baltimore are in a dead heat race to be number 2.
Mike Duggan is the first white mayor of Detroit in 40 years.
Probably just a coincidence, a white mayor and a repubican governor.
What's happening statewide is a real turnaround. As I mentioned, restoring liberty with Right-to-Work was a pivot point for the Wolverine State as was Rick Snyder becoming governor. Perhaps cripplecreek can correct me but I think the suburbs of Detroit are doing well. It's the city itself that remains a basket case and it will continue in that sorry state until and unless the DemonRATs are thrown out.
I believe Nantz plays golf with Rush Limbaugh. For what that is worth.
So let me get this straight. Detroit, which was a complete and utter sh*thole, is now one one step above a complete and total sh*thole. And, on Thanksgiving no less, the commentators at a football game made the observation that Detroit is doing just a little bit better.... and you’re outraged.
Geez, have some turkey. Crack open a beer. Relax. Get a life.
