Pizza Hut is letting customers play mad scientist, giving them the freedom to make pies with honey Sriracha sauce or add curry flavor to the crusts.
The atypical flavors and new ingredients are part of a menu overhaul set to be announced Monday and hit stores Nov. 19. Executives are hoping the revamp which includes an updated logo and more relaxed uniforms for workers will be the trick that finally jumpstarts sales.
Even as rivals Domino's and Papa John's have enjoyed growth, Pizza Hut has reported sales declines for eight straight quarters at established locations.

Yeah.
I'm sure that will fix all that is wrong at Pizza Hut.
Maybe make better tasting pizza. Their product is not good.
Crappy pizza is the reason pizza parlors fail. Dominoes was on life support from their horrid pizza. They are actually pretty good now. Maybe pizza hut can do the same. I still support the local pizza joint with dozens of beers on tap.
I used to like Pizza Hut, but quit going there about 8-10 years ago, due to the quality had plummeted.
The crust edges were so thick, that they left themselves not much space in the center on which to put toppings, and then the toppings were sparse and not evenly applied.
Now we generally get Godfather’s, or, when in CT, Coventry Pizza or Anna’s in Manchester.
Curry and ginger ain’t going to help any.
It is greasy pizza and the stores are old. Lots of good pies to chhose from. They are just nor on my list.
Maybe they should make pizza that tastes like pizza?
Why stop there? They should try this:
KRAMER: It’s a pizza place where you make your own pie! We give you the dough, the sauce, the cheese...you pound it, slap it, you flip it up into the air...you put your toppings on and you slide it into the oven! Sounds good, huh?
Bingo. Lose the grease. I’d like their pizza, but it’s so greasy I feel a bit sick after; prefer “dry” pizzas like Papa John’s - there’s enough grease in all the cheese without drenching the dough in it too.
I support several local pizza places. I rarely get pizza from Pizza Hut, Dominos, Papa Johns. I prefer the local places. The food is much better in my opinion.
I even like that I support local business in this way.
I’m the same way with local restaurants vs. Chain restaurants. Much prefer a few local seafood places to Red Lobster, as an example.
Folks are finding out that frozen, take-n-bake, and local/family restaurant pizzas are far more superior to the chain-store pizzas.
Their sauce is just tomato sauce.
That’s right. I think they put a half cup of oil in the bottom of the pan, then the dough. Yuck.
Ginger and curry sound interesting, can you get that in their cheese breadsticks?
"Lemon Curry?"
