In the spring of 2006, midway through George W. Bush’s second presidential term, Princeton historian Sean Wilentz published a piece in Rolling Stone that posed a provocative question: Was Bush the worst president ever? He said the best-case scenario for Bush was "colossal historical disgrace’’ and added: "Many historians are now wondering whether Bush, in fact, will be remembered as the very worst president in all of American history."

The Wilentz assessment was probably a bit premature. It is difficult to judge any president’s historical standing while he still sits in the Oval Office, when political passions of the day are swirling around him with such intensity. And yet the Founding Fathers, in creating our system of government, invited all of us to assess our elected leaders on an ongoing basis, and so interim judgments are fair game, however harsh or favorable.

Which raises a question for today: How will Barack Obama be viewed in history? Will he be among the greats? Or will he fall into the category of faltering failures?

Any talk of the worst president in American history starts and ends with the incompetent, clueless, Christian-hating, socialist Obama. Totally inept, he has destroyed the reputation of the US all around the globe, destroyed the US military with his social experiments and PC correctness and slashing weapons systems left and right, firing any commander that does not toe the line. He has been the most racist president in history and has divided this country along racial lines that's every bit as bad as anything seen in the days of Jim Crow. He was also the main architect in the destruction of the family unit in this country with his open embrace of something called homosexual "marriage", whatever in God's name that is supposed to be, and his persecution of Christians if they don't openly embrace this abomination. Jimmy Carter, who was almost as equally incompetent, is George Washington by comparision.

FDR in some ways is THE worst president of all, since he is the Father of Big Government. He did the most damage long-term. American history entered the Era of Big Government with FDR, and we have never recovered. LBJ took it to the next level. Carter was mostly passive and ineffectual.

I put Obama, L. Johnson, F, Roosevelt, and Wilson on there for the active damage they did to our country. I put Buchanan on there simply for doing nothing to stave off the worst crisis in American history.

Carter planted plenty of the legal seeds that Clinton expanded on which helped create the housing bubble, just for starters. Fortunately he was limited to only 4 years, because he had done so much damage in that short period of time, otherwise, his damage would have been even greater. Beyond his Presidency he continued to be a source & force of evil coupled with incompetence.

He unequivocally deserves the 2nd spot.
