BLOOMING GROVE, Pa. – The survivalist marksman charged in a deadly ambush on a Pennsylvania state police barracks stowed guns including a Chinese-made sniper rifle and other gear in an abandoned airplane hangar near where he was captured after 48 days on the run, according to court documents released Wednesday.

I really would be interested in some back story or motive info. If there was anything about him that could be used to discredit traditional americans it would be plastered all over the nets. Perhaps we have been spoiled by the availability of information in this day and age but the fact that I know nothing makes me believe there is something the media, or possibly the authorities want to hide.

Chinese-made sniper rifle Unlikely. Sounds like it was a Kalashnikov variant with a scope. The AP/enemedia thinks that any rifle with a scope is a "sniper rifle".

You are exaggerating actually. If we are talking about 5,45 version I think it would make an 18 inch group at 500 yards. Well, it depends on shooter of course.
