Burp! It’s about the only time I have a beer or two. Yes, it’s a great game.
I’m rooting for the Giants who have been a surprise throughout the playoffs. But so has KC. Neither the Giants nor KC were supposed to make it out of the Wild Card Game.
Although I’m rooting for the Giants, I like KC. They’re fun to watch. Fast and lights out “Three-Amigos” bullpen.
Thanks. Watching.
1981 Dodger Stadium, Game 5 - I was there
Yanks won first two in NY
Ron Guidry has Dodgers down 1-0 into bottom of 7th
Then back to back homers from Guerrero and Yeager...absolutely incredible moments
Dodgers win 2-1 and then close out the Series the next day
Go Royals!
Even though my Dad played for the Giants, I’m rooting for KC and Marlins Man.
Baseball is the greatest game ever invented, a thinking man’s game. No wonder it has lost favor in a nation of idiots who voted for Obama, watch mindless and vulgar TV shows, watch boring basketball where one thug dribbles the ball one way then another another way, or watch boring soccer where a ball is kicked one direction (no hands allowed), then kicked another direction. If a sport is dumb and fast it will be popular. Obama voters like soccer because it is a “global” sport.
LET’S GO GIANTS!!!
What’s a World Series?
Giants score twice in the bottom of the sixth, 3-2 Royals. Of course, if you are getting your information about the world series from this thread, you probably still have a rotary phone.
Go Raiders
First at bat in Professional Baseball. And it is in the World Series. What a strange sport.
What boggles the mind is how a baseball team can make it to the World Series with only pitchers and catchers.
My husband and I used to sit by third base (left field) to watch the Royals. Bo Jackson would put a slew of Sunflower seeds on the ground, then pick them up and chew on them and spit out the hulls. George Brett was playing then, too.
We went to Coopertown to see Brett inducted into the Hall of Fame. Also, got to see Bo Jackson play football at Auburn.
Brett and Rush are good friends, still.
Good game. I predicted KC in 5. What a bullpen they have.
Royals thread ping!
Royals get it done in game 3.
Paul Konerko (CWS) and Jimmy Rollins (PHI) co-winners of the Roberto Clemente award.
Joe “the alleged genius” Maddon opts out of his contract with Tampa. Cubs reportedly interested even though they didn’t fire Renteria yet.
I’m pretty sure that after the gay bow-tie guy interview during the FOX post-game, the announcer said “coming off that swish!”
Hmmm, guess who I am rooting for? I still find this all almost unbelievable and a little stunned.
Why the apologies? Baseball is better than ever! Well, except, all my heroes are retired or dead. But the game is great! And will get better when they realize the steroid era is over and hitters learn to spray singles again.
