A Dallas hospital nurse exhibiting Ebola-like symptoms and her husband, travelling on board Carnival Magic, have been denied entry to Belize. The couple has been prevented from entering Belize City to be airlifted to the U.S.A., and is currently on a ship tender unable to return to the cruise ship, according to the Belizean media reports.

I’m just guessing here...but I wonder if the CDC is finally doing their job in keeping track of those Dallas HCWs who were exposed to Duncan, discovered one of them was on a cruise ship (!) and wants to get her off that boat fast, “just in case”.
It was the potato salad.
3 week party boat.
My Dad used to laugh at PhDs applying for jobs who “didn’t know which end of a hammer to pick up.” Seems as though some nurses may be book-smart. But lacking in the common sense department b
Clearly, you are not paying attention.
In his testimony yesterday, CDC fraud Tom Frieden said that healthcare workers are allowed to travel if they have been wearing the appropriate gowns, masks, gloves, etc while treating an Ebola patient.
If this is true, this is the third nurse who contracted Ebola despite having protective gear. The healthcare workers flown to the US several months ago also were properly gowned and protected, yet they contracted Ebola.
It is clear that Ebola is being transmitted through face masks, gloves and gowns....a very disturbing development.
Cruise ships. Aren’t they famous for stomach viruses that spread like wildfire in the closed confines? This may not be Ebola, however, the risk of a nightmare scenario is staggering when it comes to a cruise ships. Something tells me that industry is about to get hammered.
Ping.
Mighty opinionated for one who essentially has zero facts and absolutely no basis for such an assertion. I recommend we appoint you to replace FrIeden at CDC. You will fit right in with that culture.
“Ebola Stricken” - Sounds like a bit player in an Ingmar Bergman film.
Obama needs to lecture Belize as by closing their border to ebola they will be creating more ebola//s
Maybe we are being attacked with Ebola and wherever an exposure pops up the govt throws a nurse there in an effort to somehow reduce panic? I just find it hard to believe that the govt is so incompetent.
The article is fraught with contradictions, and the headline is an OUTRIGHT lie. But I’m opinionated? The guy wasn’t in contact with Duncan. It’s HIGHLY unlikely he has Ebola.
It’s a good thing it happened on a cruise ship. They are pretty safe for staying healthy. You never hear about a lot of people getting sick on a cruise ship. I might take my family and go stay on a cruise ship until this all blows over. God help us all.
They are only incompetent when it is not important to them. Funny how when Obama needs to campaign, that comes off without a hitch. He can funnel money to his cronies quite well. When it involves protecting Americans, he doesn’t care, and it shows.
What a nightmare! Possible contraction of a horrible virus and then trapped in a third world cesspool country. Have any of you ever been to the area? There’s probably better infrastructure now, but it’s still hideous conditions compared to the USA. At least pre-apocalyptic plague USA....
Sigh. I work for a cruise line. I make good money too, but maybe not after this. Or perhaps customers will flock to mine, instead of Carnival. Would be nice.
I read that the ship left Belize. But did they leave the tender? Man that would put Carnival under. *Crossing fingers*.
4,300 people on board. What a nightmare.
Hollywood probably already has one in the works.
Terrorists take over a cruise ship only to find
Ebola already aboard, bwhahahahah.
It appears the folks in Belize understand the word “containment”.
Apparently, Belize is a sane country.
