I’m very sorry about your close friend.
I wouldn’t say this month “distresses” me. I’m a tough lady. This month is just annoying.
What I can’t stand about this month are the pink ribbons on everything, the obnoxious slogans, sports teams wearing “save the ta-tas” t-shirts, and other ridiculous spectacles. And now we have this “set-the-girls-free movement.”
Humor has its place. My surgeon employed it well: She had the walls of her exam room plastered with comic strips about this very subject. Those jokes lightened the mood in that exam room.
But, in public, people do get carried away with the “awareness” this month. ;-)

This's my favorite day of the year, man!

Yes, I remember your talking about your sister’s battle. That is a particularly brutal form of BC. I’m sorry again for your loss.
I agree with you, though, that much of the “awareness” this month is over-the-top obnoxious.

I didn’t realize! I was disappointed when there was no mail because of Columbus day. Let freedom ring.

I am fully aware of breasts and support as many as possible.
However I sure don’t miss pink pink pink month. Living over seas for the next few months I will be spared from pink shoes, pink ribbons, pink football games, pink wrappers, pink trash cans, pink pink PINK PINK!!!
To: Slings and Arrows
Huh.
I did not know about this but did run some errands sans support.

Breast cancer survivors and supporters on Twitter and Facebook are encouraging women not to wear a bra for a day to raise awareness ... Seriously?? Who in America is NOT aware of breast cancer?
And why would I care if you support it? Or support the fight against it? What's this new trend ("raise awareness") all about anyway?

Kramer did the same thing, there was nothing between he and Jerry and Elaine but a thin layer of gaberdine.

I'm a daily reader of the London DailyMailOnline, which has a Kardashian obsession -- either that, or they accept payment from PR agents to push stories about certain celebrities. They have chronicled her various body implants and surgeries, complete with "before" and "after" photos for several years now. Wish I could point to a link, but even though their readers often groan about it, they post a minimum of three or four Kardashian stories a day about the various members of the clan.
Here's a "before" readily available from googling "kim kardashian before". As you can see, her t&a are much smaller, with normal proportions.
