What USED TO BE on the Web page of the CDC as of 8/2/14:
In this guidance healthcare personnel (HCP) refers all persons, paid and unpaid, working in healthcare settings who have the potential for exposure to patients and/or to infectious materials, including body substances, contaminated medical supplies and equipment, contaminated environmental surfaces, or contaminated air.

Transmission of Ebola virus from pigs to non-human primates
A study conducted in 2012 showed that Ebola was able to travel between pigs and monkeys that were in separate cages and were never placed in direct contact.

Ebola is difficult to get, and NO! We are not curtailing flights between Africa and the US as it may harm THEIR economy.
I think I've summed up the 0bola administration's position on that particular issue.... Now back to climate change....

I watched the briefing. The Dr. Who was answering questions from the press was finally told to stop and was lead away from the podium. They are lying through their teeth.

Clearly, this speaks volumes about the highly infectious nature of this deadly virus. It supports the notion that the infectious dose of virus is very low.

You can sit on the bus next to any and all persons infected with ebola. Heck, you can probably share needles with them too.

And the CDC says its still safe as long as you wear the gear. No its not. The people in Africa are getting it with protective gear. Its BS. How come the guy’s family has not come down with it? I don’t get it.

Might have got it from a carrier..some other nurse/doctor who was exposed to Duncan..
Ebola could have been passed on in a social setting..out for a beer after work etc..
and then theres those times at the hospital when they would have been away from the patient and not have the protective gear on..

I recall some old civil defense TV spots where workers who'd been involved in nucclear or biological decontamination would take a special shower before removing their hazmat suits. I wonder if these hospital workers are showering to decontaminate their protective suits before removing them?
