All over the internet recently, sciFy vs. reality and a Mars satellite for petty cash:
That breaks the monopoly. Faced with the spectre of other nations publishing uncensored Mars images, NASA and JPL have started publishing some much more obvious images than they have in the past including a totally uncensored video (JPL) showing large-scale structure.
A few items...

My brain has exploded from the cute.
That Kitties stare is disconcerting....”you vill obey human!”
I’m going to spend some time loosening it up first. Guess I got kind of scared, lol.
It’s cold here, too, but we have Sunbeam for the cats.
Kittehs love sunbeams.
Gray and overcast and cold here.
I can hardly wait for the coffee to warm me. It’s perking.
You are braver than me. Much braver.
Morning! My coffee makes itself at 5:00 a.m.
Morning Thomas. Morning Everyone.
Up. And I slept most of the night. That felt good. Almost 11 hours...I needed it.
I need some coffee. And maybe something to eat, but not too big a something. And not too heavy. I’m not going to push it.
A bit of leftover potato? Some oatmeal?
I’ve just made chili. After church, I’ll take part of it to an elderly parishioner, and the rest will get eaten around here, eventually.
"A bit of underdone potato? There's more of gravy than of grave about you."
One may be surprised by how short a story "A Christmas Carol" is. Link
You have a good memory, Bob!
(You have a good memory, Bob!)
...
``Why do you doubt your senses?’’
``Because,’’ said Scrooge, ``a little thing affects them. A slight disorder of the stomach makes them cheats. You may be an undigested bit of beef, a blot of mustard, a crumb of cheese, a fragment of an underdone potato. There’s more of gravy than of grave about you, whatever you are!’’
Dialogue is perhaps the most tedious and difficult part of writing. But it’s not only necessary, it is essential to proper storytelling. After all, you’re letting the characters themselves tell the story, in their own words.
To some degree, this becomes more natural in its creation if your character has really come to life in your own mind. Then you’re harnessing that aspect of your inner workings rather than having to build your mental camp all over again every time you sit down.
This isolated aspect of your imagination continues through the day, and at the end of it often has something revelatory to say to the rest of the world, including yourself.
Writing is not a lonely occupation. (But clearly, it is an occupation — your mind is invaded by all kinds of beings!)
Then i must live in a country full of writers.
Most of the population appears upon first examination to have had their minds invaded by something.
And it isn't nanites.
For example: The blood curdling scream that has just emanated from next door.
The Xbox has just kicked his butt again.
For the size of your population, your island is awesome!
It was the first day back at school in Birmingham, England. The teacher began calling out the names of the pupils.
“Mustafa al Eih Zeri?” - “Here.”
“Achmed El Kabul?” - “Here.”
“Fatima Bin Pardin? “ - “Here.”
“Ali Abdul Olmi?” - “Here.”
“Mohammed Bin Kadir?” - “Here.”
“Ali Son al En?” - Silence in the classroom.
“Ali Son al En?”- Continued silence, as everyone looked around the room .
The teacher repeated the call, “Ali Son al En?”
Then a girl stood up and said, “Sorry, teacher, I think that’s me.
It’s pronounced : Allison Allen.”
LOL, nicley batted .:)
LoL, where did you get that from?
In the lost cities of Birmingham, Leicester, Willenhall, Wolverhampton Manchester.....Sheffield, Leeds ,Bradford.
