Recent Mars Images (Marvin the Martian throws down the kaboom in a guest zot)

Posted on 10/08/2014 10:49:46 AM PDT by aardwolf46

All over the internet recently, sciFy vs. reality and a Mars satellite for petty cash:

That breaks the monopoly. Faced with the spectre of other nations publishing uncensored Mars images, NASA and JPL have started publishing some much more obvious images than they have in the past including a totally uncensored video (JPL) showing large-scale structure.

A few items...

JPL uncensored video showing large-scale structure:

Raw JPL video:

Electrical device of some sort with helical coil wound around it
Device is on the left, about a third of the way down on the image

Gear of some sort.

Wheel - axle device

Raw NASA/JPL image:

As promised:

The quickest way is to cook whole potatoes , with skin on, in the microwave. When cooked cut into pieces and put into frying pan of hot oil, preferably rape seed oil, olive oil is too heavy.
Cook at a moderate temperature until golden .

For conventional roast potatoes, boil potato pieces just enough to soften the surfaces.
Then place into a pan of shallow hot goose fat in a medium hot oven.
Gas mark 4 in the middle of the oven or on the bottom rail. Leave until golden brown, turning occasionally to keep the surfaces moist with fat.
Time needed depends on size of the pieces.

Thanks! I like the microwave method (my back hurts if I stand too long) and I think maybe coconut oil will work as it is so light. I will try it! Thanks again. :o])

And no one here eats goose...alien critter, that...

When you’ve been chased by them enough as a kid, you learn to enjoy a nice goose dinner. Bwahahahahah!

LOL!

I had a childhood friend who had a goose for a watchdog. NO one went on their property until someone came out of the house to chase the goose away from the visitor...in total aggressive stance!

Oh, a note:
I do use olive oil for the first option.
Have got away with it so far...

I like roasted red potatoes. Clean and cut into 1 to 1 1/2 inch chunks. Spray the chunks with EVOO then sprinkle a seasoning salt on them and roast at 350 for forty minutes in an oven. You can turn the taters at twenty minutes if desired, but I like at least one crispy side.

Have you tried a part boil ,(quater inch penatration of spud).
Then fry in a Wok full(covering spud chunks) of olive oil?
That is something to behold.
((Maris piper) the spud.)

I only eat red potatoes. Whites and Yukons are too dry for me. And ever since I tasted my first “chips” I have been a fan of them, and wish I had a deep fryer to cook them properly.

A wok would imply that I had a kitchen large enough to store one. If I’m in a hurry, I can turn around in my kitchen and meet myself....

"Some names I have considered...Spot, Snowball, Speck, Spectre, Whitewash, and Boomerang."

I favor "Abo", as in the Aussie song "Let me Abos go loose, Bruce ..."

Because if you call her "Boomerang", and she gets out, you may be singing "My Boomerang won't come back ..."

Would you like me to add you to the Undead Thread ping list? It’s very low volume, maybe once or twice a month, but I will do it if you like.

Welcome, MHGinTN, to the Undead Thread! No topic, but some are verboten because they have threads of their own: Religion and politics. We discuss both, but we never, EVER argue or get heated about either one. And it IS a family thread, so we try to ease up on sensitive subjects.

So with that in mind, I would be glad to add you, and have the other ping list holders add you, as well.

I could call her Abo! I loved their music, and two days ago, I could have told you the name of the group, but today??? NOT!

I can even tell you the first song I heard by them: Tie Me Kangaroo Down...San Diego, 1962
