Recent Mars Images (Marvin the Martian throws down the kaboom in a guest zot)

Posted on 10/08/2014 10:49:46 AM PDT by aardwolf46

All over the internet recently, sciFy vs. reality and a Mars satellite for petty cash:

That breaks the monopoly. Faced with the spectre of other nations publishing uncensored Mars images, NASA and JPL have started publishing some much more obvious images than they have in the past including a totally uncensored video (JPL) showing large-scale structure.

A few items...

JPL uncensored video showing large-scale structure:

Electrical device of some sort with helical coil wound around it
Device is on the left, about a third of the way down on the image

Gear of some sort.

Take heart...Tom is too restless to be content staying home. In a year or two, he will leave to grace the lives of others, either through his tallness or because he found a home in the military!

In the military, the food is endless, and he may even find himself as a cook. From there, he can get schooling as a chef for an awesome position on some flagship or at an O Club. He’s limited only by his own reticence.

I had my supper, though it was early enough by some standards to pose as lunch. However, it only had 120 calories, so that’s a bonus.

Today was Weigh Day and I gained the familiar two pounds. However, this time, I’m blaming my kidneys for the water retention. Perhaps next week, I will be able to say I lost 10 pounds!

Stay tuned.

Red is a warm color, so I’m always warmed by anything red. Orange works, too, when it comes to warming...blaze orange...I like heat!

Reticence is not one of Tom’s main features.

Sorry about the gain, but there’s always another week. I’m having more fish.

And I’m having more soup and trying to find foods that will stimulate my kidneys. I’m sure I will be shocked by the loss at the end of it all.

I’m trying to keep the calories down to 150 max a serving for the next week, hoping to give my body a running chance at losing the water weight.

And watch out for salt. I’m telling myself my gain this week was because of the soup DP made that I had to eat all the leftovers. He puts lots of salt in everything. I’m sure all the food at Mom’s was full of salt, too.

It seems I eat too much potassium, so when I eat a lot of salt, I lose a lot of water. I eat the potassium to keep my heart in rhythm and to stop the leg cramps. I’m constantly balancing one cure against another symptom, which is why it is so very important for me to adhere to my pill regimen every day. When I don’t, all hell breaks loose with my body and it takes almost a full month to get it back to where it is functioning properly.

This is from trial and error. I actually become afraid when I realize I’ve forgotten a vital med.

So I have to check out the foods I eat very carefully. In all, it’s a jiggling act, and I’m still learning how to make it work for me.

I take a potassium supplement for the leg cramps.

Kathleen is here having a Spasm because I won’t give her more peach tea, which she refers to as “lemonade.” She gets really obnoxious before bedtime.

I can’t relate to children who are different at certain ages than my single child...until he was 10. He was so easy, I guess it’s a good thing he was an only child! Or maybe I missed out on the Great Experiences, since I wanted an even dozen kids.

My niece here in town is leaving for ND in a week, and I am really going to miss her because we really didn’t get a chance to get acquainted.

She was a baby, last time I saw her, but now she has four children of her own. There is a lot I have missed. And I am sad at the loss.

I just found with men, once you graduate college, the good ones get married, and you want one that is family oriented and likes animals.

Of course, it would probably help if I lived in an area where I had more in common with people too.

Now I think I like being single I just want a kitty. Although I’d probably change my mind if I met someone, I sure do get lonely sometimes,

Morning everyone. I had a bit of a busy day yesterday so I didn’t check in much. Did you guys finish painting Middle Earth, or whatever it was (I get confused when I get behind).
