Recent Mars Images (Marvin the Martian throws down the kaboom in a guest zot)

Posted on 10/08/2014 10:49:46 AM PDT by aardwolf46

All over the internet recently, sciFy vs. reality and a Mars satellite for petty cash:

That breaks the monopoly. Faced with the spectre of other nations publishing uncensored Mars images, NASA and JPL have started publishing some much more obvious images than they have in the past including a totally uncensored video (JPL) showing large-scale structure.

A few items...

JPL uncensored video showing large-scale structure:

Raw JPL video:

Electrical device of some sort with helical coil wound around it
Device is on the left, about a third of the way down on the image

Gear of some sort.

Raw image showing gear:

Wheel - axle device

Raw NASA/JPL image:

Metallic container with handle

One final game-over category image

It wouldn’t do her any harm or cost her anything. Maybe you should take along a form letter for her to sign ;-).

She probably already has one, and with that, I’m taking my last dose of pills and heading for the blanket show.

I see a kitteh on the horizon...

I never thought about Chewie before but I must confess.

I’m a Trekkie. I don’t really care for Star Wars.

But now I can’t stop thinking of Chewie

Chewie... I don’t see him being able to lower your blood pressure.

In short - no he can't. Neither can his sister Mooshelle...

..covered with tire tracks!

Maybe if he 'helps' the BLM guys at their next showdown at the Bundy Ranch, Ol' HairyHarry will accidentally slip under one of their vehicles?

What do spiders have to do with it?

They make this one with a habanero sauce here, it is pretty gawd awful. Jalapeno doubles I haven't tried, but I get the ones with green chiles sometimes.

Jalapenos are way overused around here. I like good Tex Mex hotness but when I order something and the only spice is 'peno I feel sort of cheated. The New Mexico trademark chile is the Hatch green chile and they can be quite hot, but the flavor is so much better than jalapeno.

There is a casino here with a great steakhouse that does a Sunday buffet sometimes, and they make a great green chile stew with prime rib meat. I'll go back for seconds and thirds of that stuff I tell you what.

"What do spiders have to do with it?"

Well, the way I figure it, they say "you are never far from a spider".

I'm not entirely sure what this means, but if they're talking evolution, I still need some spinnarets and increased strength.

And a few more eyes, just to be sure.

On a nonrelated note, the Republican retaking of the Senate has altered the space-time continuum.

As proof look no further than the sports pages. The Cleveland Browns beat the Bengals 24-3 in Cincinnati...

I’ve been trying to be a better person, but as soon as I started cackling at the thought of Harry at the Bundy’s, it occurred to me that I’d better get back to the drawing board. :)

There is merit to that idea since, at one of the no-kill shelters with which I’m familiar, the death row inmates are the first ones they rescue. Chewie would not have qualified as adoptable because of the ripping off your arms thing, but there’s always the possibility that he got off on a technicality or somehow fell through a crack in the system.

I like your tagline.

So when I say, “they say”, you’re one of “them”, huh?

My daughter doesn’t like spiders. I tell her, “Spiders eat bugs. You’re not a bug, are you?”

I am part of They. You are part of They. He is part of They. All y’all are part of they.

You can repeat this until it means something to you: I’m going to the gym.

Yeah.

But being a better person doesn’t mean you can’t be glad when God finally moves against Soddam. When someone or something is completely irredemable, it’s time for the ultimate smackdown.

God can decide whether Harry goes to Heaven or Hell, but I can decide whether he’s done damage to an otherwise good country.

I can’t believe you guys missed the obvious.

Chewie rescued Han. Apparently he was very much on the edge because, although Han wasn’t dangerous, his cheese factor was off the scale.

Word is that Chewie was actually bribed to take him home.
