"...Take note: Instead of working to get out the vote, educate voters, and advance Republican and conservative principles in key states, and fire up the base, the establishment has already thrown in the towel. They are trying to shape a narrative about why their candidates lost instead of making sure their candidates win. Their narrative is that tea partiers are
what were those words you used, David? Oh yes. Tea partiers are naïve, sophomoric, and stupid, and this trifecta of character flaws will cause us to behave like petulant children."

Of course not, but I suppose that changing the argument is the only way open to you.
I certainly did not mean that you were lobbing insults on FR. You have not insulted nor threatened anyone. If I gave you that impression then please accept my sincerest apologies. That was never my intention.
I was speaking of the McConnell, Barbour, Rove, Cochran et al.
In fact, I think your heart is in the right place. You just haven’t reached the breaking point the way the rest of us have.
The establishment has been so over the top in the last two years denying and fighting against conservative principles and those who espouse them that we no longer buy into Mitt Romney’s condescending belief that we will hold our noses and vote for the establishment because we have “nowhere else yo go.”
The establishment would rather spend their effort and money defeating what is good for America in an effort to maintain control of the party apparatus instead of focusing on what is right for America. The way we see it, the establishment is perfectly content to lose elections so long as they get to keep their power and seats in DC.
It is not the base that is cutting our noses off to spite our face. It is the establishment selling their souls and their nation for personal gain. Their problem now is that the conservative movement has forced the establishment hand and they have exposed themselves for everyone to see in their panic and naked lust to hold onto power under any and all circumstances.
That is why Rove is out there begging for dollars, volunteers and votes. The jig is up!
K. Kerinder righteously shreds GOPe shill David Catron with cited examples of blatant hypocrisy on the "let's be a team and beat those Democrats!" exhortation, and observes: Their narrative is that tea partiers are what were those words you used, David? Oh yes. Tea partiers are naïve, sophomoric, and stupid, and this trifecta of character flaws will cause us to behave like petulant children.
Catron's arrogance in reply is breathtakingly condescending and obtuse: Yet Carender supports the effort of Mississippi State Senator Chris McDaniel to torpedo an incumbent who unexpectedly beat him in their states GOP primary. Indeed, McDaniel is not merely refusing to endorse Thad Cochran, he is actually suing him. Carender suggests this is justified by what she describes as Cochrans vile, disgusting, corrupt, race-based, left-wing attack on McDaniel. She claims to understand that politics is messy, but supports sore loser tacticts ....
..... capped off with this talking down to us less "mature" peons: All mature voters understand that a trip to the polls usually means one will have to pull the lever for the least worst candidate. If you are foolish enough to allow the perfect to be the enemy of the good ....
Catron himself is foolish enough to vote for a morally and ethically bankrupt fraud like Cochran, or for a presidential candidate, Romney, who was 100 percent philosophically on-board with Democrats on every single major issue -- all the while pretending that he is/was voting "against" Democrats. THAT is as foolish as it gets.
The Stupid Party. As a lifelong Republican, that it's the truth makes it hurt all the more. The reality remains: The Republican party is frustrating the political solution we seek and require. To get clear of this mess, limited government conservatism has to get clear of the Republican party.
That's true and it's because of low expectations on my part. I know a number of politicians. I can't think of a single one that I like. They are all about themselves and I don't expect them to behavior differently. Honor, integrity, and strong principles are for the little people. I judge them on their behavior and I use my vote to try to influence their behavior. I pick the best of the litter but none of them are going to do much more than sleep on the porch and demand more dog food.
Voting for someone so low as to lie to black Democrats (Cochran) and get them to vote illegally in a primary is "winning political strategy"? Voting for a presidential candidate, Romney, who was philosophically on board with Democrats on every major issue from abortion and nationalized health care to environmentalism and the gay agenda, when you seek to OPPOSE the Democrats on those issues, is "winning political strategy"?
Retribution, revenge, getting even -- they are your own fantasies. Me, I'm a Christian who is mindful that vengeance belongs to the Lord, and that revenge or "getting even" is bad behavior in His eyes, so I resist the temptation. Instead, I will vote FOR a winning strategy when I see one. Your Republican strategy is a losing one -- I should know, as I was stupid enough to vote your way for many decades, only to see the Republican party drift ever and ever leftward -- because I was confusing intent (voting "against" the Democrat) with action (voting for a statist leftist registered as a Republican). I have woken up.
You are still slumbering.
WELL SAID!!!!
That's something I could hear John Wayne saying.
Amen, pilgrim.
I can’t wait until the election is over and the GOP can press forward with its plan....oh, wait....
I’m taking my cue from Francisco d’Anconia. They (GOPe) said I’m evil, so I’ve decided to stop being evil.
Where has it been stated (in this thread)”I am voting for the democrat”? I and others have made the decision based on the actions since 2010, we will support GOPe with the same intensity they have supported conservative/Tea Party candidates. There is no mention of pulling the lever for the opposition. This action seems to be having some effects given the anemic fund raising results for RNC/GOPe this election cycle.
Most have certainly just said that they are not going to vote. But some, surprisingly, have declared that they are voting for the Democrat candidate in a particular race. Orman gets several declarations of support and votes on grounds that he is running as an Independent. All distinctions without much of a difference, IMO.
Most people who stay home will accomplish nothing and will be ignored by the political classes. In a very few cases, the stay at homers will affect the outcome.
Bullshit
Well written, my friend, as always.
You are projecting what you and your Ruling Class GOP leadership itself has done in terms of attempting to divide and conquer their own base. What you turds did in MS is UNFORGIVABLE.
The Presidents party is headed for an electoral debacle unless they can trick some conservatives and tea partiers into sitting home or voting for Democrat ringers this November simply because their candidates failed to win some primary bid.
The President has NOTHING to do with tricking any Conservative into voting their conscience instead of voting your Establishment picks shoved down our throats. It is YOU guys and YOUR derision, intimidation, castigation and endless threats and name calling like the stupid hit piece you wrote on Monday that has convinced us to abandon your party to it's own consequences. You deserve to lose.
The smart move for these conservatives would be to send a message to the Democrats that their courthouse skullduggery is not enough to fool them into electing a Democrat shill like Orman.
WRONG. The smart move is for Conservatives to send a message to your party and your leadership that their wife-beater, Democrat-esque sabotage and betrayal of Conservatives will be remembered and all your attempts to shame and intimidate us into electing yet another RINO Democrat-lite stooge will finally come to an end.
Carender, in a sublime case of unintentional irony, unwittingly supports my point when she cites Republican Rep. Mike Castles refusal to support Christine ODonnell in the 2010 general election (for Joe Bidens vacant Senate seat) after she unexpectedly beat him in the Delaware primary. Well never know for sure, but had Mike Castle supported Christine ODonnell, vouched for her across the state, and encouraged voters to give their support to her, it is very likely that the GOP would have picked up that seat in 2010.
That is the most inane attempt at suggesting Irony when Carender was noting the fact that when the chosen Establishment stooge LOST a primary, the GOP Ruling Class abandoned them and actively supported the Democrat. Carender does NOT support your point, she eviscerates the very idea as the hypocritical pap it is.
Yet Carender supports the effort of Mississippi State Senator Chris McDaniel to torpedo an incumbent who unexpectedly beat him in their states GOP primary. Indeed, McDaniel is not merely refusing to endorse Thad Cochran, he is actually suing him.
And AMEN. I hope to God that your party's voter fraud and despicable actions are punished beyond your Establishment Cronies the ability to recover EVER.
Carender suggests this is justified by what she describes as Cochrans vile, disgusting, corrupt, race-based, left-wing attack on McDaniel. She claims to understand that politics is messy, but supports sore loser tactics that far exceed the sins of Mike Castle.
Oh Puhleeeze! "far exceed"?? Your party leadership SHAT down our throats and engaged in sabotage and smear and demonization of their entire base and adopted the same exact race-baiting corruption the Democrats do, JUST to defeat a Conservative.
if the Democrats get out and vote while Carender and her friends sit home and sulk, the blame for the inevitable Democrat corruption and bad policies rests squarely on the shoulders of these abstaining voters. NO DIFFERENT THAN DEMOCRATS.
All mature voters understand that a trip to the polls usually means one will have to pull the lever for the least worst candidate.
Been doing that for over two decades pal. We are in this mess PRECISELY because we betrayed our principles to vote for the 'least worst candidate'. No more.
If you are foolish enough to allow the perfect to be the enemy of the good, you lose.
We are told by Our Lord and Savior to 'Be Perfect' - because in so doing, we WIN. Only a demon and devil tells us that striving for perfection is an enemy of what is "good".
There is no substitute for victory. You can whine or you can win. Those are your choices.
If our choice is between a MarxoFascist democrat and a Ruling Class GOP Liberal, there is no winning, only losing.
We are better off to write in a Conservative or vote third party for a true Conservative than be forcibly limited to only the choice the Central Planners present to us as "your only options".
Go and pander for the votes you need from Mexicans and the great "moderate" Democrats out there. That is whom you party seeks to replace Conservatives with anyway.
Well said! Let the Uniparty RINOcrats know that their time is up, and we’re not playing their game anymore.
And if Harry Reid wins the Senate, it won’t be on our heads. The fault will be that of the sanctimoniously dishonest and unprincipled GOPe and their enablers, their betrayal of our once great American nation and their outright war on the core values on which this nation was founded.
I think the more important question is why won't the RINOcrat GOPe run conservative candidates?
See? The contempt for Conservative Principles always seeps out when party hacks with NO principles other than playing the game start to lecture us about what constitutes a 'winning strategy'.
This statement exemplifies why the GOP and those who prop it us are no different than the Democrats.
Well said INVAR!
Well he’s dead right about one thing. It is personal. And it always should have been personal.
Because when some piece of human garbage tells me that I am an obamabot and destroying America for voting for principled conservatives over their liberal republicans, that’s personal.
they personally want me and us all, to become liberals like themselves and put victory at any cost at the forefront. Well, here’s a clue for them. Any version of “America” run by liberals whether R or D, is not the constitutional America of the founders. Freeper liberal, and that is what they are by their words and actions, that wants victory over principle; considering the history of this country is purely about principle and maintaining it in the face of adversity/the enemy, IS the enemy every bit as much as any open Democrat since they advocate situational ethics.
They need to be called what they are and shown the door. Because as long as they remain, all we do is spin wheels arguing for no good end. And that means we are not getting our shit together and fighting them ‘out there’ where it matters.
Liberal Freeper is an oxymoron and they are morons. They are the problem.
