Freeper Gefn is in the ER with possibly failing kidneys. She contacted me to ask for your prayers. She'd also appreciate it if you'd post any favorite LOLcritters you might have - she's alone and scared and in a lot of pain, and she really loves them.
The news of Gefn getting better is wonderful. Thanks for the heads up T-c.
UPDATE: Gefn is expected to be home Thursday or Friday. She’s doing better, but dying for a cheeseburger (the sandwich, not the lolcats) - she says the food at the hospital “makes her feel like Grandpa Simpson.”
Just getting up and moving in familiar surroundings does more than most of their crap, but they need to stay in business, so the show must go on.
Yaaay!
Glad to hear it
: )
Me too. ;^)
The food in a hospital is so bad, if you had to stay there very long, you’d literally starve to death.
So glad you’re going to be ok! We luv u.
Prayers up! May God grant you His healing Grace, Peace of mind, and Strength to make it through this passage.
... and believe me, it's even worse if you eat it.
Great news, Gefn. Haz your cheeseburger!
Thanks for the update Slings.
Good to here. I hope there is an In-n-Out or a Five Guys nearby!
Please tell Gefn she’s still in my prayers. I’m sure she’ll be happy to get home. After my last surgery, I had my son stop at McDonald’s on the way home. I had three abdominal surgeries over an 18 month period, and the only thing I got in the hospital was jello, and it was always orange jello, which I hate to begin with. It got to the point where I couldn’t even put it in my mouth without gagging, and stopped eating it. Their coffee sucked too.
Hospital food is a subtle incentive for you to get better and get out. (I’m entitled to my delusions, aren’t I?)
You’re very welcome.
lol The last time I was in the hospital, both the nurse and doctor asked me why I wasn’t eating anything. I said: “Have YOU tried eating any of that shit? It’s disgusting!”
Neither of them had ever tried it. I told them that inmates in prisons probably ear better.
After thinking about it, I came to the conclusion that a hospital is very similar to a prison(especially if you smoke). My wife and relatives had to smuggle in food for me. I kept a pack of smokes hidden inside of the paper towel dispenser in the public restroom down the hall, and had a secluded location out of site of the surveillance cameras where I could sneak and smoke without being caught. Geez.....
I’m so glad you’re going home!
Hello to everyone
I want to thank you all for the cheeseburgers and kitty pictures, and the prayers and good thoughts. And friendships. It means more to me than I can possibly say.
I’ve been home a few days now but I’m completely disabled, I’m on oxygen 24/7, with an oxygenatator machine because I developed pneumonia. I just can’t breathe, I’m taking advair, and have a nebulizer.
I’m still as weak as a new born horse. I can’t move without a walker, it’s agony doing the smallest of tasks like eating or bathing or using the toilet. I’m trying to get a home health aid but the insurance won’t cover it, so it looks like either tough it out or wipe out all my 401 and savings.
I do have a nurse and an physical therapist that come once a week, and Peapod does deliver groceries so its ok.
I’ll see a doctor next week and a few more specialists so hopefully ill be on the mend soon, but keep me in your good thoughts, and kitties.
Update at #216.
I know about the walker. Had to use one after I broke my back and legs were too weak to support me at first.
I don’t mind the walker, as much as I don’t like the oxygenator and the oxygen tickles my nose,
It’s on a long extension cord so I have to be careful not to trip over it.
Thank you for posting there was an update, SA&.
Get well soon, Gefn! Follow all your doctor’s instructions and
heal and be well. We miss you.
