The '70s nearly had their own Blue Ivy Carter, Stevie Nicks has confirmed. The Fleetwood Mac singer/songwriter recently talked with Billboard about her upcoming 24 Karat Gold LP, and was asked about a comment made by her ex-paramour (and fellow '70s megastar) Don Henley of the Eagles. Henley had said that Nicks had gotten pregnant with his baby, and that Sara (later the name of a Mac top-ten hit) was the name she had given the unborn child. Nicks corroborated the important part of that story:
Had I married Don and had that baby, and had she been a girl, I would have named her Sara. But there was another woman in my life named Sara, who shortly after that became Mick's wife, Sara Fleetwood.
The idea of Nicks and Henley maybe the two most famous members of the two most famous American rock bands of the late '70s having a child is kind of a crazy one. It would've been a tumultuous upbringing to say the least, but just imagine the smooth, California-inflected and overwhelmingly bitter songwriting DNA that kid would've had. John Mayer would kneel in worship, certainly.
Imagine what a talent they could have been. : (
From Wiki....
Nicks has said that she consciously chose not to have children of her own, due to her demanding career and desire to follow her art wherever it should take her: “My mission maybe wasn’t to be a mom and a wife; maybe my particular mission was to write songs to make moms and wives feel better.”[146] She finds maternal fulfillment through her niece, godchildren, and extended family: “I have lots of kids. It’s much more fun to be the crazy auntie than it is to be the mom, anyway.”[147]

4 abrotions? Is that true? If so, she really is a witch.
This was also not poorly educated low income women but college educated women in positions of responsibility who should have known what birth control was. It was initially shocking but later so sad.
What makes this an item of news? A druggie singer gets pumped up by a guy who is not her husband. She banged 2 of the 3 men in the band and lord know how many more before and after. Why is this something we would really care about? A ho, who got pumped up by a ho hopper.
Yeah...an unplanned pregnancy is a familiar story. That it results in an abortion would be tragic. 4 times and you are squarely in “stupid, flipping vaca keep yer legs closed!” Territory.
wow; sheer stupidity...
I went in for a routine monthly OB check on Wednesday only to find out that our baby boy had suffered “fetal demise” a couple of weeks previous. I called my husband, he met me at home and we, along with our older kids, picked a name for him. You are right, it helps. Even though I never got to meet him, I saw him on a previous ultra sound kicking and bouncing like he was playing.
The difference is, I didn’t purposely kill my baby.
i remember reading here on Freep a few years ago she either went to Walter Reed or the vet hospital in Germany to visit our wounded vets, gave them all MP3’s and mentioned how, as the child of an Air Force officer, she loved all the wounded vets...it is sad that she’s had all those abortions...
That is an incredible bit of trivia! Where did you find that one?
So sad; I am so sorry. That was so recent. I’ll pray.
What a very sad story. I think I’ll never again here the song Sara without choking back a tear or two.
Oh my lord, 4 abortions? Didn’t this wealthy woman ever hear of birth control?
I’m so sorry to read this. Please accept my condolences.
It was a documentary I saw on Peter Green and the Peter Green era of Fleetwood Mac.
Here it is:
Peter Green: ‘Man of the World’ (2009)
