An email I just sent to Rush. I no longer enjoy listening to him as I once did. For what it's worth.

I like cats but his discussion of his cat yesterday wasn’t necessary.

He does seem to be unfocused at times. Both my mom and I turn it off when he goes on about silly stuff. To be fair, I do the same when Laura Ingraham talks about how cute her kids are, or Beck and his minions guffaw about whatever. Things in this country are very bad, and likely to get worse, and my patience is low.

I agree. I have to spend days listening to hear anything worthwhile. I don't want to hear his thoughts about his golf game, the NFL, his ear implants, or worst of all, his latest books.

If I want to hear some old guy rambling about meaningless junk, I'll listen to myself.

I take breaks from Rush. Makes it all the better when i start listening to him again.

I too am not a fan if his Apple love or football love either.

Mark Levin has replaced Rush as must listen to radio. Plus I love his podcasts are free.

You must not have been paying attention over the years.

Rush has always talked about his cats. He’s always talked about computers. He’s always talked about golf. He’s always talked about football.

And since he’s been on the air for 26 years and he’s won 5 Marconi awards, not sure that that qualifies as ‘umpteenth’ times.

Rush is great spokesman and only gets better with time. I love him and his show. I think you’re expecting too much. He relentlessly takes on the liberal challenge every day. God bless Rush!

Football and golf stories bug me? Yes. Sometimes. But every day is not my best day, and I allow for this with others as well. Enough said.

Oh, and my radio has a channel dial. I don’t share that fact loosely.

Nothing against Rush, but these days I have little patience to listen to any talker for more than a few minutes. Don't know why. Maybe because there is so much bad news these days. The criminality, incompetence and treachery of the Obama administration is wearying and depressing. Maybe depressing us is part of the master plan. When we are finally worn down, we will be easier to dominate.

I know what you mean.

I think it is a function of Rush seeing the sand running through the hour glass and knowing that he will not be on air “forever” to guide us. I think he has hoped to inspire others to join him and lead. Sometimes I see him as wistful like Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane, wondering how everyone is going to cope when he is gone.

I find Hannity’s and Levin’s voices irritating, and Glenn Beck is a goof ball half the time.

I am going to enjoy Rush as long as he puts it out there, and hope that others follow his lead.

Rush, Mark Levin, Laura Ingraham, Mark Steyn, Sean Hannity are all or can be enriching whereas especially Michael Medved is a complete turnoff.

I stopped years ago listening/viewing all of them on a daily basis as I also stopped watching O’Reilly completely.

Here’s where I find them of value now. I scan throughout the day news headlines and commentary especially here. If something in the news heats up where I think Rush, Mark or the others would add insight, I tune them in. In other words, news items on the internet key me to tune in talk radio or a livestream from Fox or some other broadcast outlet.

I have no TV programming in my home, only internet and radio. Direct TV, Dish Network, Comcast and the like have been out of my home for more than 5 years now. I tried them all at one time or another over the last 15 to 20 years.

I find it sad to see someone watching television programming these days. It seems so wasteful of life unless it’s supplemented with intelligent commentary on how to be aware of how what’s being watched forms one’s views and outlook. Rush is a master at raising this kind of awareness.

No matter how news finds a way into the home, Rush Limbaugh will forever be known as a great teacher of how to read and process the media and its streams into society. No one can touch him in his ability to point out how the media attempts to shape opinion. His focus is almost always on the intentions behind media events rather the events themselves. He should receive lifetime awards and always be remembered for his contribution to making Americans smarter and wiser.

My mind’s always drifted when Rush starts going on and on about sports. But he’s been a godsend for this country, and he’s entertaining. I still like to listen to him.

I stop listening on a daily basis for the opposite reason. Since zer0 was emaculated the news has gotten not only depressing but infuriating. I have limited my exposure to Rush, as he tells it like it is. I used to be mad when he went off on golf, football, apple computer tangents. Now I find them a welcome break from the defacto destruction of America that Rush, so poignantly GETS.

I agree.

As a daily listener, I thought Rush reached his peak at his CPAC speech a number of years back. Then, he remarried. Ever since, his shows have become more and more mellow. This has accelerated after the Sandra Fluke affair where he appeared “wimpy” as he rushed to the microphone to apologize.

Dare I say it? Rush has become “chickified.”

Just think about it, you’re a piss ant compared to Rush. You have 200 people knowing your thoughts Rush has 20 million. Now sit back down.

I imagine Rush needs a break from talking about the ongoing destruction of this country by 0bama and his liberal team. Talking about his cat, or football helps him to keep his sanity, and reveals him as a balanced person.

Every word he utters is recorded and scrutinized by leftist operatives, looking for a way to get him thrown off the air. His words are distorted. Deliberate and intentional lies are created about his words.

The country IS going to hell, as long as the left is in charge and half of Americans have their heads up their a$$e$. So if you can hear a little depression in his words, it’s understandable.

I don't get to listen all the time. I have had Rush 24/7 so can catch the most interesting topics later. It seems like his sports discussions and computer discussions are about the same portions as they always have been.

He obviously loves football, and I find the NFL to be significantly more boring than watching paint dry. The beauty of radio is how easy it is to tune out when the subject is boring.

Nevertheless, I look forward to the start of my lunch period every day for a chance to catch up on the latest fray and will, likely, do so until he retires.

I don't think he has changed all that much. It sounds like you would benefit from exploring some other venue. There is a life cycle to every product for each of us.
