Needs chocolate. If I’m going to ‘survive’ there had BETTER be some chocolate in the kit for after the hand to hand combat. Maybe a cigarette or two, too.

Throw a few condoms in there and I will RULE THE WORLD, post-apocalypse, LOL! ;)

Oh thank God. I was thinking it was something designed for men to use on first dates to keep from breaking wind.

Here’s an oldie but goodie prep list:

“Survival kit contents check. In them you’ll find:

- One forty-five caliber automatic
- Two boxes of ammunition
- Four days’ concentrated emergency rations
- One drug issue containing antibiotics, morphine,
vitamin pills, pep pills, sleeping pills, tranquilizer pills
- One miniature combination Russian phrase book and Bible
- One hundred dollars in rubles
- One hundred dollars in gold
- Nine packs of chewing gum
- One issue of prophylactics
- Three lipsticks
- Three pair of nylon stockings.

Shoot, a fella’ could have a pretty good weekend in Vegas with all that stuff.”

A co-worker put a kit like this together with his kid....father son project.

Then his kid brought it to school to show it off.

That little knife - police were called, reports were filed...yada yada....

I have “Survival in a can”

It’s a small can the same size as a tuna fish can, but filled with survival goodies.

Hey, it's got one of those redneck GPS things.
A compass.
Gotta have something for a no satellite situation I suppose.

I’d buy it just for the pencil and paper.

We used to call them our SERE kit.

For the civilian, I suggest that every camper, hiker, and hunter carry a survival pouch based on getting lost and spending the night away from their camp.

Anyone can put together a kit, but the trick is that the kit remain so small and light, that you never take it off, that means tiny, personally I use a camera pouch that I don’t mind wearing and sitting down with.

What do people do when they go camping in the mountains? Often they pick their beautiful spot, throw down their pack, and then go to take a quick look around or get some firewood, and then, oops, they are lost and the sun is going down, that is when you don’t want to have made such a wonderful and “bulky” survival kit, that it was also set aside “for just a minute”, back at the camp, it needs to be tiny enough that it is always on your belt, always.

One things these kits leave out is water. At the very least put in 2 heavy ziploc bags and a small dropper bottle of bleach.
