McDonalds, Wendys and other fast-food restaurants are expected to be targeted with acts of civil disobedience that could lead to arrests Thursday as labor organizers escalate their campaign to unionize the industrys workers.
Kendall Fells, an organizing director for Fast Food Forward, said in an interview that workers in a couple of dozen cities were trained to peacefully engage in civil disobedience ahead of this weeks planned protests.
Fells declined to say what exactly is in store for the protests in around 150 U.S. cities. But workers involved in the movement recently cited sit-ins as an example of strategies they could use to intensify their push for higher pay and unionization. Past protests have targeted a couple of restaurants in each city.

Thanks, narses.
Both my (adult) daughters are stay at home moms and cook a lot.
They are really outliers among their peer group.
I don’t think “home economics” is taught anymore?
There’s a burger in that picture?
“I dont think home economics is taught anymore?”
“Home Ec” has become EBT/SNAP/WIC/SEC8 Management.
So many women prefer a career over home life. To be fair, Obama’s economy has made it necessary for a lot of wives to bring in a check. I know that when I worked, I would come home exhausted, not even wanting to look at the stove. So we got restaurant takeout. I got sick of living like that, and so did my husband.
I think some schools do still teach Home Ec, but they call it something different like “Family Science”.
I took it in the 8th grade during the late ‘70s. We wore white aprons and had a great time.
I could never eat in restaurants 4 or 5 times a week and maintain any kind of reasonable weight.
I’d have to retrain myself.
I wonder if that’s one reason there are a lot more overweight persons these days?
Nope, no sales.
I was quality control for oilfield pipe inspection.
I was the only one qualified to go on rig jobs for a couple of companies and the only one that could go on the King Ranch for Exxon.
The manager/salesman had sold the oil companies the service the company provided based on my knowledge and the guarantee I would be the one on the job, and they wouldn’t use anyone else.
Ya better get started now because there are already several burgers which cost well over six bucks.
You don’t want to eat fast food slop anyway....Trust me.
BTW, most of these McWhopper franchises are now owned by foreigners, Mid-easterners Muslims and on and on.
But the union bosses will win big time regardless of what I decide.
Could be part of the reason, I’d think. The portions they give you are huge.
My sister-in-law works long hours, and she practically falls down when she gets home. She and her husband eat out almost every night. But the girl has restraint-—she never gains a pound.
I’d get sick of restaurant food, though. There are so many good things to cook.
Since most these slop joints franchises are now owned by foreigners, Mid-Easterners and Muslims, I'm sure they'd fully support that.
Wait till they see the TAX DEDUCTIONS, AND UNION DUES taken from
their NEW found wages they won’t even SEE the increase!!!!!! FOOLS all
of them!!!!!
Remember the fake protests in cities in the last run up to the election. Where are they now?
They were paid protesters and bums. This is a variation of it.
Making me hungry already! Sounds great....I’m not at all a weight watcher...seems I’m a fast burn as still maintaining the weight I had in high school. So I eat what I want.
I do love the Colonials Original Fried Chicken though...and it’s real chicken!
Back in the old days of the Golden Arches, that’s what fifteen cents got you. Almost worth it at that price.
Another fifteen cents for fries, fifteen more for a Coke.
This was around oh, say....1965.
Wait till they see the TAX DEDUCTIONS, AND UNION DUES taken from their NEW found wages they wont even SEE the increase!!!!!! FOOLS all of them!!!!!
You got that right Kit cat....but then they aren’t really good at checking those things out. However let them find it out....I’ll cook at home.
