Sources have told The News that Rivers would not want to live unless she could enjoy “a full and active life....(She) would never want to be a burden on anyone.”
Rivers’ grandson, Cooper, 13, and her daughter’s ex-husband, John Endicott, were spotted leaving the hospital Saturday morning in a Lincoln SUV and returning to Melissa Rivers’ East Side apartment.
Rivers was rushed to Mount Sinai Hospital after she stopped breathing during an otherwise routine doctor’s visit for a throat procedure.
It was unclear how long Rivers was without oxygen. Doctors placed her in a coma within hours as they attempted to assess the damage, and her daughter was expected to discuss treatment options with the medical staff.

Personally, I think it was the vast amount of unnecessary medical procedures she put herself through. That takes a terrible toll on the human body. Her blood pressure may have increased through what you describe. Very unexpected which goes to show you just never know...

It’s possible if no one at the clinic noticed Ms. Rivers wasn’t breathing right away. The clinic is separate from the hospital, so there was probably some time between when she stopped breathing and when she was transported to the hospital.
Who specifically is "they?"
I wish Ms. Rivers all the best. I pray she recovers.
Maybe. But I hadn’t had a whole lot of procedures and I arrested. Oh...and I’m about 20 years younger than she is.
It’s not life if you are laying on a bed having air pumped into your lungs by a machine.
I suspect they do know, but don’t want anyone else to know.

Key to her survival. If she’s “aware”, or “semi-aware” which I would think she’s not, but IF she hasn’t the will for fear of NOT being able to continue her active lifestyle, and becoming a burden she won’t survive.
The personal will to survive has been noted as a remarkable contributor to the process of healing.
The procedure she was having had to do with a recurring throat problem but the article that I read didn’t state the nature of the problem.
