A multimillionaire CEO has been caught on newly-released surveillance video repeatedly kicking a puppy.
Des Hague was seen in an elevator in a Vancouver apartment building repeatedly booting the doberman pup in the stomach as it flinches against the wall.
He is the head of Centerplate, a $6 billion-dollar company which provides snacks at sports and entertainment arenas across the U.S., with more than 30,000 employees and clients including the Superdome in New Orleans, the Javits Center in New York City and college sports arenas like Notre Dame.
Centerplate released a statement on Tuesday which read: 'In no way do we condone the mistreatment of animals. This is a personal matter involving our CEO that we are currently investigating.'
The company said Mr Hague had agreed to attend counselling for anger management.
No criminal charges have been filed against him.

Never happen.
Thankfully, the dog has been taken away from him.
Having done rescue with many abused Dobes, it takes them a long time to ‘get over’ betrayal by their human.
This breed is insanely loyal, even when the maggot holding the leash does not deserve it.
The pup has lots of rehab to go through before it regains some measure of trust.
I would bet it’s always going to be nervous about fast movements, though.
They forget *nothing*.
:(
The company has “apologized” and covered its ass, saying it’s an “internal matter”.
Apparently, standing animal abuse laws do not matter if you quickly throw lots of money at them.
At least the dog is alive and being cared for by other who actually have *souls*, now.
The catering business needs to understand the ramifications, via a wholesale boycott of their services.
Money talks to even those who are morally deaf.
I would stand idly by, because I know you to otherwise be a person of usually sterling character.
:)
I couldn’t watch it either.
It looked just like Halla.
Just the vid caps were enough to break my heart.
The body language is one of pure terror and broken spirit.
Which is why I want to watch, because right before he tries, I get to yell, “Say goodbye to that limb!”
There is no way on Earth I would watch that torture porn.
That man needs some harsh lessons, and I hope that he gets them.
No, yldstrk. He’s saying that if the man were a Democrat, we would not be reading about the abuse of the dog.
Of course, rhinohunter and all other decent FReepers are definitely NOT fine with what this ugly piece of rat s#!t did.
I already irreversibly hate the man, and he should be thrown into a dark, dank, hole and left to die before he kicks
someone or some animal who can’t be healed. The man is evil incarnate, and he deserves to be severely punished.
And no more pets for him, ever.
I’m so glad she’s been removed from that environment! Who has her? I hope they take their time and find her the best home possible. All this publicity ought to help.
According to people on another site, the RSPCA took her from *him* because she was his dog, not some mythical friend’s dog.
Their people say she shows signs of chronic abuse and they are already working to repair as much damage as possible.
It may be slow and difficult because of her breed.
In a perfect world, I would be able to give you a front row seat and lots of popcorn.
Frankly, Seven would give ya much more fang for the buck.
;)
Poor little baby. Prayers for her complete physical and
emotional recovery. And may she forget that the “mean
man” ever existed.
Chronic abuse of a puppy should be a hanging offense
because the perp will always want to do more and he will
escalate to humans and become a danger to society.
I wonder how many puppies he killed before getting
caught torturing this one?
And the d@*n p#$%^k is only “sorry” because he got caught.
Odin getting a little mellow in his adult years?
I still wouldn’t want to mess with him, though.
Seven really is pretty feisty.
Yeah, maybe someone had no other motive than to protect the dog from further abuse. His friend has a right to know he's abusing his dog when he's not looking.
He didn't just kick the dog, he pulled the leash way up where the dog was no longer able to stand choking him, just mean all the way around. The boy's got issues.
No charges and counseling for the rich...jail time for the serfs...
Yeah, there are 2 “justice” systems...
Look at the folks calling for the head of the kid who dunked his dog’s head in a bucket of ice water...but none calling for the head of this creep who was kicking a pup...
She was his own dog, not a friend’s, and she had signs of long-term abuse.
The RSPCA took her away from him and put her in hospital for treatment of her wounds, and she is scheduled for later rehabilitation. She will
never be returned to her vicious owner, and I hope that they toss him in gaol if he ever even tries to get another puppy or pet of any kind again.
He obviously enjoys hurting animals, and he will probably escalate to humans. He really should be arrested and evaluated for serial killer status.
Yeah I saw after I wrote that it wasn’t his. And you’re thinking like I am- my first thought after watching that was “can you imagine what he’d be like babysitting a baby or toddler”. He’s abusive. Abusive people will pick on anything that won’t fight back - animals, small children, old people - they’re sick.
Poor baby, I’m just glad it was caught on camera and they were able to rescue her. How many animals are not as lucky? I’m sure after all the publicity she will go to a loving home. At least there is that.
Not really.
He’s just a bit more people friendly and reluctant to bite unless told to.
Seven has no such reservations and is not a people person at all.
All of her relatives are titled in Schutzhund and/or have their IPOs.
She was born to be snotty.
:D
There is no “friend”.
It was his dog and has been determined to be a victim of chronic abuse by rescuers.
He is a -lying- POS.
