15 Answers to Creationist Nonsense
Scientific American ^ | June, 2002 | John Rennie

Posted on 08/12/2014 8:09:40 PM PDT by JimSEA

When Charles Darwin introduced the theory of evolution through natural selection 143 years ago, the scientists of the day argued over it fiercely, but the massing evidence from paleontology, genetics, zoology, molecular biology and other fields gradually established evolution's truth beyond reasonable doubt. Today that battle has been won everywhere--except in the public imagination.

Embarrassingly, in the 21st century, in the most scientifically advanced nation the world has ever known, creationists can still persuade politicians, judges and ordinary citizens that evolution is a flawed, poorly supported fantasy. They lobby for creationist ideas such as "intelligent design" to be taught as alternatives to evolution in science classrooms. As this article goes to press, the Ohio Board of Education is debating whether to mandate such a change. Some antievolutionists, such as Philip E. Johnson, a law professor at the University of California at Berkeley and author of Darwin on Trial, admit that they intend for intelligent-design theory to serve as a "wedge" for reopening science classrooms to discussions of God.

To misinterpret God’s word is to fall into Satan’s trap.

If we can evolve, that means we can devolve as well, correct?

Should I also mention there’s no such thing as spontaneous generation, recapitulation, or Piltdown Man?

This article should be called 15 Retarded Defenses of the Evolution Hoax. There’s no science in it whatsoever.

It is inconceivable that the cosmos could have come into being in six days. It is also inconceivable that there could be such a miraculous interconnected ecosystem with its floura and fauna. The fact that the millions of intermediate forms do not exist is just inconceivable. By man, that is. Everyone knows that there is a pattern that connects. A stamp of identity on every natural wonder. Everyone believes that, given enough time [if he didn’t destroy himself] man could figure out just about everything. This common faith, in the human possibility, is what gives the athiest and the humanist hope for the future. What is intolerable is the notion that perhaps someone already has figured everything out. The Bible simply declares that this is the case. Someone is already there, in the infinite future where everything is known. This Someone has an identity that is imbedded in every living thing. Written. Man matters because he exists in the form that reflects that identity. Therefore man has meaning and worth, intrinsically. On this basis alone stand human rights and dignity. Islam is filthy because it does not submit to this reality. It’s submission alright but submission to a “demon” who eats the “souls” of men.

Imagine you are all powerful. In modern terms designing a world on a computer. With the proper tools you could paint the cosmos in the short timeframe your tools and intelligence allowed you too. If you want a billion lightyears of light to cross the universe, you program it in in less than six days like a painter on a canvas.

Comparative genomics can now be added to that list.

Here is something we can all agree on:

When God Designs something it is Intelligent Design.

When Government tries to Design something it is Poorly Designed

well, i know it’s not true. life isn’t a random cosmic accident that means nothing.

i state what i did so the evolutionist is clear as to what the reducted logic of evolution really means.

So-called scientists start by telling us, “Nothing exploded and then created everything.”

Then they tell us we need to adhere to the laws of nature.

They have some great imaginations and it takes a lot of faith to believe what they’re selling.

Darwin himself recognized in Origin of Species that his theory had many difficulties. He listed four objections that he recognized, if not resolved, would be fatal to his theory. They were, in order:

The lack of transitional forms
The incredible complexity of such organs as the eye
The development of instincts in animals
The sterility in crossbreeding of species

try that on for some real MEAT!!

incredible complexity

that mean nasty term used by CREATIONISTS

how did the first EYE develop?? the smart lil amobea KNEW there was something to SEE......out there did they??

Is evolution picking its choices made on a specific endstate? If it is truly random, then there is no specified endstate for the "program" to match.

True, as far as it goes, but only because there is no pre-selected end state, yet there is a criterion selected for and that criterion is survival within the local physical, chemical, and social environment. And that leads to many interim "end states", none permanent but many long enduring, despite the underlying randomness of the genetic changes driving the process.

>>Should I also mention there’s no such thing as spontaneous generation, recapitulation, or Piltdown Man?<<

The exposure of Piltdown Man is a great example of how the Scientific Method triumphs over, say, ignorant guesses.

You really should LEARN things before exposing your ignorance by repeating nonsense such as “spontaneous generation” and “recapitulation” — but we who know things appreciate the laughs they produce.

Knowledge is elusive for many — I suggest you pursue it.

So based on your logic where did that designer come from?

>>Clarity is all about accurate knowledge, not a dreamed up Theory that has no basis on what we see from an actual scientific method perspective.<<

You are new to science, aren’t you?

Majored in Geology. Found the left wing seminarian view to be wanting.

I prefer to upset EVERYBODY.

As I’m not a “young earth” Creationist.
I don’t buy 6 days nor 6,000 years.

But, I AM a Creationist.

all i can say is if evolution is true, life is a random accident

This does not follow. I was deeply impressed by David Attenborough's LIFE ON EARTH series, which amplified upon Darwin's remark, "There is a grandeur in this view of life."

It's certainly something beyond easy comprehension, and something in the face of which one ought to feel humility, which I feel is an essentially spiritual response, however expressed.

Evolution does not envision any perfect organism, only one which survives. There is no normative goal toward which we are evolving.

on the theory of evolution

Put your faith in a theory (because it is faith to believe in a theory(an idea without proof)) or God....I Chose God!

That was true until I was born.

Then it was “game over” and Humans realized there WAS an “end state” — Me.

;) :)
