I have spent a little time compiling links to threads about the Ebola outbreak in the interest of having all the links in one thread for future reference.
Please add links to new threads and articles of interest as the situation develops.
Thank You all for you participation.

Officials say he is being tested for Ebola, although his symptoms are also consistent with other illnesses.
"These symptoms can also be consistent with salmonella, malaria, or the stomach flu," the New York City Department of Health said in a written statement.
"Preliminary test results are expected in the next 12 hours. The Health Department says Spencer's fiancee is under quarantine at Bellevue.
She is healthy with no symptoms."

"... Dr. Spencer had been working with Doctors Without Borders in Guinea, treating Ebola patients, before returning to New York City on Oct. 14, according to a city official. He told the authorities that he did not believe the protective gear he wore while working with Ebola patients had been breached but had been monitoring his own health.
Doctors Without Borders, in a statement, said it provides guidelines for its staff on their return from Ebola assignments, but did not elaborate on those protocols.
The individual engaged in regular health monitoring and reported this development immediately, the group said in a statement.
Dr. Spencer began to feel sluggish on Tuesday but did not develop a fever until Thursday morning, he told the authorities. At 11 a.m., the doctor found that he had a 103-degree temperature and alerted the staff of Doctors Without Borders, according to the official.
The staff of Doctors Without Borders called the citys health department, which in turn called the Fire Department.
Emergency medical workers, wearing full personal protective gear, rushed to Dr. Spencers apartment, on West 147th Street. He was transported to Bellevue and arrived shortly after 1 p.m.
He was placed in a special isolation unit and is being seen by the pre-designated medical critical care team. They are in personal protective equipment with undergarment air ventilation systems ..."
It was reported that the doctor was sluggish with fever, nausea and gastrointestinal issues while riding subway to Brooklyn Wednesday evening. If he was sweaty from fever wouldn’t he possibly be shedding virus on every doorknob, handrail, money, let alone everything he touched at the bowling alley?
Yikes, but what could you possibly do to one with full blown ebola? Say that you hope they can recover so that you can REALLY put the fear of God in them?
Meanwhile, every patient in the USA but for Duncan has been a doctor or HCW, what does that say?
Thanks for the link.
Oh yeah. IF my bf had done this to me (possibly infected me with a deadly disease and caused all my worldly possessions to be taken and incinerated), I’d pray for his recovery. So I could promptly kill him. Painfully.
Youngor Jallah may have kept the rest of the family clear of him as well.
DOCTOR WHO RECENTLY RETURNED FROM AFRICA TESTS POSITIVE FOR EBOLA (103 fever)
sounds fair to me...
I agree with that too.. and now they are using Duncan’s example to prove how hard it is to catch... That he was sleeping on all the mattresses in their house was bologna too..
All of a sudden he gets a fever of 103?
He’s hot blooded
Check it and see
he’s a Foreigner haha
Let us count the ways this could go bad:
1. Uber car (How many Ebola cases in Liberia came from Taxis? Lots, I believe).
2. Bowling alley (If you have ever bowled, you will know this is not the most hygienic of sports. You wear shoes large numbers of other people have worn and stick your fingers in rough holes which lots of other people have stuck their fingers in. The last time I bowled, there was Pizza sauce in the holes).
3. The subway (I don't have the stomach to even get started on this one).
Contact tracing? That should be interesting.
...Too which I will add the following —
4. The weather in New York has been cloudy and in the 50 to and 60 degree high range the last few days. This is 40 Deg. F cooler than West Africa and 30 Deg F cooler than in Dallas. Fomites filled with Ebola are going to be contagious hours if not days longer than in West Africa, or Dallas come to that, due to lower UV and cooler temperatures.
5. Population densities in NY City are higher than in Monrovia or any other major city in West Africa.
6. Flu season has started in the North East.
We are about to test the hypothesis of cooler climate Ebola Fomite spread.
Such is the power of using Summoning Words.
