I have spent a little time compiling links to threads about the Ebola outbreak in the interest of having all the links in one thread for future reference.
Please add links to new threads and articles of interest as the situation develops.
Thank You all for you participation.
She is such a beautiful young woman, God bless her and heal her! This is so scary!

another great article about Ebola going back to 1976...

Once all golf courses are shut down due to ebola threat, Obama will wake up and take notice, but not till it affects HIM! The loser!
What is the current status of Duncan’s family?
If they were doing well you can bet we would be hearing about it.
You can also bet the oBozo administration wants to get this off the front page as soon as possible. They have a STRONG incentive to cover it up if the family is not doing well.
I have seen only ONE reference to communication with any of the people who shared the apartment with Duncan, and it was undated and second hand. I have seen no reference at all to communication with his girl friend.
We were told they were moved to an undisclosed private residence in a gated community. Since then we have no way to verify they are still Ebola free, or even alive.
So... In this case is “no news” the same as bad news?
I smell the rotten odor of a cover up.
My reading of the family’a statements to date indicates Duncan’s Dallas relatives are both lawyered up and have a press agent. We last heard from them on Thursday, as I recall.
Thanks for the link. I still smell a rat, but thanks to your info the stench is not quite as strong.
I hope it’s true, and the family is indeed Ebola free.
Unfortunately, the source is second hand. He did NOT say he had personally spoken with any of them, although it is easy to infer he had. If he has spoken with them he certainly did NOT say when.
In other words, we still have zero communication from the actual people involved. Why not?
The reporter failed to ask any questions about their lives in quarantine. Nor were any questions asked about their reactions to the additional people infected. Both of these questions are certain to have high human interest value, and even a cub reporter would have asked them.
So... I’m not convinced, but willing to hope for the best. If we don’t hear something a lot more convincing than this interview on Monday, however, my suspicion level will max out.
I am still concerned about the 21 day period for known direct contacts. The WHO study of a 42 day period raises doubts about the effectiveness of a 21 day quarantine in at least 5% of infected patients.
Ditto.
And I remain quite suspicious that we are not being told the whole story.
GOPJ found this (I snagged it from another thread):
Ebola monitoring inconsistent as virus spread

Can anyone explain this to me?
The lab worker on the Carnival Cruise is said to be “completely healthy”. They say she is in isolation. The ship is scheduled to dock in Galveston in the morning. The CDC has cleared all pax to debark.
Why, then, did a helicopter chopper to the ship to pick up blood samples?
https://twitter.com/EricLupher7News
Now, dagnabbit, we weren't supposed to find out about that--or maybe we were.
Either they have a potential boatlaod of biological time bombs on board, or not.
If the blood samples are from the lab worker and family, they may or may not confirm/deny the presence of infection.
Early on in the course of the disease's incubation, tests are a mite iffy, with false negatives noted, and has been revealed, incubation can take up to 40+ days..
However, if the results come back positive, they have more potential patients on one boat than parts of west Africa. It would be best to know what they are up against if that is the case.
For instance, if all the passengers got sick, and each infected just two others, that would mean between 9000 and 18000 cases, more than the entire outbreak in West Africa so far (passenger capacities on cruise liners generally between 3000 and 6200, not counting crew).
Best to nip that in the bud before it spread. The system would be seriously overwhelmed at that (with only 23 level four beds nationwide).
No, I get the point that a blood draw is necessary. With over 3000 pax on that ship, and 1500 employees, I’d be scared to death.
But if the ship is docking in Galveston TOMORROW morning, what was the hurry to get a chopper out there to get the draw TODAY?
Something smells.
Once the ship docks, it will be all the harder to keep everyone on board.
This gives the longest practical incubation period before testing and the ship reaching port without putting the ship in a holding pattern offshore and having the passengers freak.
With the delay, tests that show negatives are more likely to be correct assessments, positives are generally just that--positive).
Even with negatives, it is likely everyone is going to have to be monitored.
Chances are someone is off the script, because that actually makes sense, when you think about it.
Okey-doke. Makes sense.

From: Here:
"Recent studies conducted in West Africa have demonstrated that 95% of confirmed cases have an incubation period in the range of 1 to 21 days; 98% have an incubation period that falls within the 1 to 42 day interval. WHO is therefore confident that detection of no new cases, with active surveillance in place, throughout this 42 day period means that an Ebola outbreak is indeed over."
21 days from Duncan's death will be October 29. 42 days will be November 19.
Let's hope we all have a Happy Thanksgiving. .
We don’t know what or whom to trust or believe. This could be something ..or nothing. Because no one in authority respects the citizens we are left to speculate and imagine.
Twitter is full of rumors about the cruise ship and apparently all EARLY reports of the HCW being symptomatic have been scrubbed.
Not sure if I missed it or not but do we know how or why attention was even brought to this woman? How did authorities know she was there?
